The world was in utter shock when, on October 28, 2023, the Canadian actor, Matthew Perry suddenly passed away. The actor was a global sensation and was dear to everyone because of his humanitarian endeavours and portrayal of the character, 'Chandler Bing' in the American sitcom drama, Friends. The ten-year-long sitcom had people hooked to it and made everyone feel like a part of their on-screen dynamics. The star's death was extremely difficult to accent by the ardent loyal fans of the sitcom.
While the world was in shock with the ultimate demise of their favourite actor, the medical team was trying to find the cause of Matthew's death. It is now two months after the sudden passing of the actor that we discovered that Matthew Perry actually died of acute Ketamine effect. However, that is not the only cause of his death.

Matthew Perry has been suffering from severe addiction issues ever since his claim to fame with the popular sitcom, Friends. However, as per reports, he has been clean for the past 19 months. But, the cause of his death has yet again been directed towards an overdose of an illegal drug, ketamine. The Los Angeles medical team revealed that the megastar passed away due to an overdose of the drug and subsequent drowning. The medical team added:
"Matthew Perry's cause of death is determined to be from the acute effects of ketamine. Contributory factors in his death include drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects. The manner of death is an accident. "
Ketamine is a recreational drug which can also be used to treat depression. It numbs one's pain and provides one with comfort, which is why ketamine is often used as anaesthesia by doctors or to treat mental health issues. However, if used without a prescription, ketamine can be hazardous and illegal, too.

Matthew Perry has always been very vocal about his addiction issues that were triggered by his mental health issues. In his memoir, Matthew revealed that there was a time when he was regularly consuming ketamine to ease his pain and help with his mental health issues. Talking about his addiction to ketamine, Matthew Perry added:
"Taking K is like being hit in the head with a giant happy shovel. But the hangover was rough and outweighed the shovel."
