Mahadev Book Betting App: How A Juice Corner Owner Became A Billionaire, Made Rs. 200 Crore A Day

It’ll be fair to say that the ‘Mahadev Book betting App’ scam was one of the highlights of the year 2023. The chances of an Indian filmmaker portraying this shocking scam on the screen are quite high, considering the success of Hansal Mehta’s Scam series. Well, for the people who have been living under the rocks, a group of individuals from completely different backgrounds founded a betting app with the name Mahadev Book betting app.

Despite coming from lower-middle class backgrounds and having no adequate education, as per multiple reports, they still managed to pull off a scam of reportedly around Rs. 5000 crores. Although there’s a group behind the Mahadev Book betting app, two names are leading all the headlines, which are probably the masterminds behind this whole scam. The first is Saurabh Chandrakar, who owned a juice shop before becoming a billionaire and his partner-in-crime, Ravi Uppal, who used to run a tyre repair shop.

As soon as the Mahadev Book betting app came under the radar of the ED (Enforcement Directorate), names of a series of Bollywood celebrities came forward. The alleged involvement of celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Kapil Sharma, and Hina Khan, along with 14-15 other celebs, are under the ED’s scanner. The case is still under process, and with so many renowned celebrities under scan, the Mahadev Book betting app scam has truly become one of the most talked about topics of the year 2023.

How does the Mahadev Book betting app work?

For people who have never used the Mahadev Book betting mobile application, it is accessible through mobile downloads. The app features a series of virtual games, including poker, Teen Patti, and cricket. In order to gain entry into the betting section of this game, users must secure a user ID and password, which is paid, unlike most of the apps, which offer free sign-in. Once a user has signed in and got the credentials, they can gain access to a realm of online betting activities offered within the app.

However, its sophisticated financial infrastructure distinguishes Mahadev Book betting application’s operation from other betting apps. All the monetary transactions are channelled through bank accounts and UPI, thereby concealing the trail of illicit funds flowing through the system. This intricate web of activity has drawn the attention of investigative authorities, which resulted in the ED’s probe into the workings of the Mahadev app and its direct effect on the world of illegal online gambling.

Not only this, the games featured on the Mahadev Book betting application were set up in a way that ensured the panel owners never faced losses. The users used to get a lot of gains initially, and their payments used to be done by anonymous bank accounts. However, once they’re addicted to the habit of winning, the panel is used to ensure that they endure losses bigger than their profits.

The team behind the Mahadev Book betting app

It all started with Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, who reportedly founded the Mahadev Book betting application. Before becoming a billionaire, Saurabh was running a juice corner, while Ravi owned a tyre repair shop. In the thirst of making money, they both got addicted to betting and in order to set up their betting app, they went to Dubai. As per reports, Saurabh and Ravi met with a sheikh and a Pakistani national, who helped the Indian duo start their own betting application.

If the reports are to be believed, after coming back to India, they formed a core team that included a seasoned contractor businessman, a BCA graduate, and a school dropout who was getting into the clothing sales business. They all met accidentally at a paan stall in Bhilai’s Akash Ganga Market, and when Saurabh and Ravi shared the idea with them, they all agreed to take their chances. As per ED, Saurabh and Ravi were making Rs. 200 crores in a single day, courtesy of the fact that they managed to establish around 4,000 panels across India, with each panel having around 200 users.

How do Bollywood celebrities indulge in the Mahadev Book betting app scam?

The grand wedding of Saurabh Chandrakar in the UAE caught the attention of the ED after a series of Bollywood celebrities were invited. The wedding was held at a luxurious seven-star hotel in Dubai, and around Rs. 200 crore was spent by Saurabh. Even private jets were booked to get the family members from Nagpur to the UAE.

Amid the festivities, well-known celebrities graced the event with their performances and also endorsed the Mahadev Book app, as reported by the PTI. As per the early investigation, it is reported that the B-town celebs received a substantial sum of Rs. 40 crores from the betting platform's promoters.

These payments were reportedly directed through hawala networks in cash. If we talk about the names rumoured to be involved in this case are the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, Huma Qureshi, and Hima Khan. All the celebs have received a summon to appear at the ED office in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
