Sadly, the news reports and rumours turned out to be true as Loan Gruffudd, who had tied the knot with Alice Evans on September 14, 2007, had filed for divorce secretly after 13 years of marriage and having two adorable daughters, Ella and Elsie. The ground-breaking news has stunned the entire Hollywood industry, and now his wife has reacted to it.
According to legal court documents obtained by The Blast, Fantastic 4 fame, Loan Gruffudd has filed documents in the Los Angeles Superior Court to end his 13 years long marriage with his wife and actress, Alice Evans, on March 1, 2021. The decision came as a big shock to the Hollywood industry and his wife, Alice, who claimed that she wasn't informed about the big move and is shattered after knowing about it through the internet. On March 3, 2021, the heartbroken wife took to her Twitter handle and had written a long note in her now-deleted tweet, which speaks everything about the pain she and her daughters are going through at the moment. Her tweet can be read as "My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughters girls are very confused and sad. We haven't been given a reason except that he 'no longer loves me'. I'm so sorry."
After some hours, Alice Evans took to her Instagram handle and shared a screenshot of a news report that stated her husband, Loan Gruffudd has filed for divorce from her, ending their 13 years of marriage. Along with the screenshot, Alice penned a short note in which she took a dig at her husband and thanked him for not informing and having a word with her before filing for divorce. Her caption can be read as "Oh. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I guess?" According to a joint statement obtained by PEOPLE, the two wants privacy from media at the moment, as its an extremely crucial time for their family. The statement can be read as "As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy."
On February 7, 2021, Alice Evans had taken to her Instagram handle and had confirmed the heartbreaking reports about her and Loan Gruffudd's decision to think about getting separated. Her devastating note had saddened and had shocked their entire fanbase in split seconds. Along with a cutesy selfie with her hubby, Alice had stated in her note that she's glad to receive so many heartfelt messages from her fans during this tough time, but she and Gruffudd are serious about divorce. She added, "I don't have a mum, or a dad. I don't have any close friends in LA. I've looked after my kids for half their lives alone. My husband knows that. We are indeed discussing legal separation, but we are still friends. You can say what you want about me being an attention seeker but you know it's not true. You just want a reason to put me down.
