Social media has given everyone the power to speak their mind. However, some use it to spread negativity. We have often seen people troll celebrities for anything and everything. From the water they drink to the clothes they wear, from their personal lives to their statements, everything is judged and passed remarks on. The latest target of a lewd remark is actress, Lara Dutta, who hits back at a user for calling her ‘gareeb’.
For the unversed, Lara Dutta was crowned with the Miss Universe title in 2000 and had made her entry into Bollywood with the film, Andaaz in 2003. On February 16, 2011, Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati had tied the knot in a civil ceremony. And on January 20, 2012, they had welcomed their little angel, Saira Bhupati.
Recently, a photo of Lara Dutta went viral on the internet, where she looked alluring in a white dress with a denim jacket. However, a social media user pointed out Lara’s phone cover, which was a brown leather one with parts of it tearing off. The user tweeted, “Me sochta tha yaar hum jaise log hi garib hote hai...... ab Lara Dutta G ko hi dekhlo unhone apna mobile cover 2 saalo se change nahi kiya hai......." As soon as the comment went viral, Lara, gave a witty reply, saying that her phone cover holds sentimental values. She tweeted:
"Correct!!! . Kyunki kuch cheezon ki sentimental value bhi hoti hain!!!"
On November 8, 2021, Lara had taken to her Instagram handle and had hosted a LIVE session to clarify that she is not on any dating website. She had further revealed that she has been seeing many memes of her fake profile on the internet. The actress had shared:
"Since yesterday, my feed has been absolutely flooded with some memes and some messages, they have been telling me that I have a profile on some kind of a dating app. So, it's been absolutely crazy, I have been going nuts since yesterday, trying to answer people one by one and tell them what the truth really is. So, I thought it is better to just go online and clarify it with you right here, right now that I am not on any dating app, have never been and am not on any right now either."
Lara had further added that she doesn't have anything against dating apps, and she thinks it is a fantastic way for people to connect and meet each other. However, she is not on any dating app at the moment. Lara had shared:
"So, for all the memes doing the rounds out there, am very amused to see most of them but there's not much truth in there. I do very few Insta lives so it's really fun to connect with you all of you, who are here today. But if you do hear this, please know that all the memes that are doing the rounds that am on some dating app, am not on any dating app guys."
On the work front, Lara Dutta was last seen in the film, Bell Bottom!
