Kajol and Rani Mukerji are counted among the most gorgeous divas in Bollywood. They have worked together in movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., among others, which became one of the most loved films of the era. In addition, Kajol and Rani are also said to have a family connection. They are often spotted together attending Durga puja in the pandals of Mumbai, various events, Bollywood parties, and more, and the glimpses prove their bond. However, do you know Kajol and Rani had drifted apart from each other? Yes! You read that right, and now the divas recalled the same as they appeared in the latest episode of Koffee With Karan.
Bollywood actresses, Kajol and Rani Mukerji graced the sixth episode of the popular reality show, Koffee With Karan season 8. The episode was aired on November 30, 2023, and the divas can be heard revealing many unknown anecdotes from their lives. The show's host, Karan Johar is best known for making his friends from the B-town reveal the deepest secrets of their lives after calling them to grace the 'Koffee' couch. Thus, during the conversation on the show, Kajol recalled the shooting days of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai along with Rani. To this, Rani also added that she used to talk less to Kajol in the 2000s.

Further, Kajol mentioned how her distance from Rani was organic, which had no connection to their professional lives. Kajol said, "It was just an organic distance honestly, and where work is concerned I think both of us liked where we were." However, Rani said that she grew apart from Kajol due to the different places the two of them used to live. She called it a bit strange and mentioned:
"I've known her (Kajol) as a kid and she is always Kajol didi (sister) for me and yeah it was a bit strange but I guess when you grow up and grow apart, you don't really know the reason why because you don't need that often because Kajol didi used to stay in town, and we were in Juhu."
In addition, Rani made a startling revelation about her bond with Kajol's sibling, Tanishaa. Rani shared that while she grew apart from Kajol, she formed a beautiful bond with Tanishaa. Moreover, Rani shared that Kajol has a beautiful bond with the boys of their family. Rani added:
"Me and Tanishaa were much closer and we are still closer but Kajol didi was always closer to the boys of the family like my brother... and all of them."

Finally, Rani recalled the time when she once again started building a bond with Kajol. Rani shared that she had been extremely close to Kajol's dad, Shomu Mukherjee. Thus, after his death, the two divas gradually came together. In Rani's words:
"I think more after our dads passed. It's more from that time. I think from the time her dad passed or my dad passed, that is what happens to families. I was very close to Kajol's dad because Shomu Kaka (Shomu Mukherjee) was literally mostly every day at my place. When you go through tough times, when you go through loss in the family in terms of people you love, I think that's when everybody comes closer."
