Kartik Aaryan is hailed as one of his generation's most successful male actors in Bollywood. While his film, Shehzada, tanked at the box office, his other films, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Satyaprem Ki Katha, brought him much-needed fame and recognition in the film industry. Kartik will be next seen in his upcoming film, Chandu Champion, and he also has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Aashiqui 3 in his kitty.
In an interview with Film Companion, Kartilk Aaryan opened up about his films' success and revealed that he doesn’t know how much money he has in his bank account. Speaking along the same lines, he added that his mother handles his finances, and thus, he has no idea how to check his bank balance. He said:
“My mother handles my money. I don’t know how much money there is in my account or if there is any money or not.”

Kartik Aaryan added that whenever he has to buy something, he must get his mother's permission first. Narrating a recent anecdote, the actor shared that he wanted to buy a car on his birthday, but his mother refused because she said they had no money. However, since he doesn't know how to check his bank balance, he has to believe what his mother tells him. In his words:
“I wanted to buy a car on my birthday but mummy refused, saying that there is no money. She said maybe next year or sometime later, but, ‘Abhi nahi le sakte'. I have no option but to believe what my mother tells him, because I don’t even know where to check how much money I have, I don’t know kaunsa account hai.”
Elaborating more on the same, Kartik said that his mother's restriction on spending money sometimes annoys him. He further shared that if his restaurant bill exceeds a certain limit, his mother asks him how he eats so much despite being on a diet. The actor added:
“Sometimes I get angry also, ki aap kisi bhi cheez mein allow nahi karte ho. It’s not just about a car, it’s even for smaller things like my restaurant bills. If my bill is too high, she would call and ask, ‘Itna khaana kaise khaaya jab diet pe ho?'"

However, despite all this, Kartik Aaryan revealed that he is proud of his mom, who left her medical practice to manage his finances. Revealing the reason behind the same, the actor shared that his mother doesn’t want him to misuse the money or get spoilt. He even added that he gets an allowance from his mother and said:
“She just doesn’t want me to get spoilt. She thinks I can still get spoilt. I have lived my life where I spent more than my earnings. So, I think she is used to that idea and she doesn’t like it. She has decided isko pocket money mein hi rakho, usme sudhra rahega.”
Now, Anupama Chopra shared the video of her interview with Kartik Aaryan on her IG handle, wherein he talked about how his mother handles his finances. While the actor made several candid revelations, it looks like netizens are not happy with the same. Reacting to the video, one user penned, "Aji whats this nonsense? Grow up, agar nai pata, pata hona chaiye. Don't glorify this behaviour! Your woman will suffer otherwise. Baki jisko jo krna karo." Another one commented, "What a man-child is this?"
