Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover got married in April 2016. It was in 2022 when the duo welcomed their baby girl, Devi, into their lives. There is no second thought about the fact that Karan and Bipasha are doting parents to their daughter, and they often bless our feeds with glimpses of their princess, Devi. It was a few months ago when Bipasha talked about the tough phase of her life after Devi was born with two holes in her heart. And now, Devi's dad, Karan opened up about the same and called his daughter the smallest 'fighter'.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan Singh Grover shared that his daughter, Devi was born with two holes in her heart. He also shared what his movie, Fighter director, Siddharth Anand's wife, Mamta told upon learning Devi was born with two holes in her heart. Karan stated that Mamata called Devi a 'fighter'. Calling his daughter the first smallest 'fighter', Karan mentioned:
"If you knew her story, even though she’s 14 months old, she was born with two holes in her heart, and we had to go through an open-heart surgery. When Mamta (Marflix) first heard about it, she’s like, ‘She’s a fighter.’ I was like, ‘Dude, she is the smallest littlest fighter that we have, and she was the first one.’”

In the same interview, Karan Singh Grover was asked how he and his wife, Bipasha Basu, held onto one another after learning about Devi's condition post her birth. Answering the same, Karan said that they came to know about the same three days after Devi's birth. The actor also added that becoming a parent is not an easy task, and it takes a whole lot of strength. Calling the situation tough, Karan added:
"Well, we didn’t really know till the third day of her birth. I would just say that to be a parent kind of requires some other strength, and respect to all parents, man. And I think it was a very, very difficult situation.”
In an interview with Neha Dhupia, Bipasha Basu shared details about her daughter being born with two holes in her heart. The actress shared how doctors suggested them for an open heart surgery for the kind of large holes the little one had. Bipasha shared that she and Karan used to go for scans every month to check if the holes in their baby's heart were healing, but finally, after three months, they decided to opt for surgery.
The actress remarked that at first, Karan was not ready for their daughter to go through surgery at such a tender age, but she was ready to go to any extent to make sure her daughter was okay. Bipasha Basu, in the same interview, also shared the details about Devi's 6-hour-long surgery. The actress added that her life seemed to be stopped after she saw Devi in OT. The actress further revealed that the operation was successful, and now Devi is all okay.

Earlier, in an interview with News18 Showsha, Bipasha and Karan talked about how their lives have changed after the birth of their daughter, Devi. The actress said that her life had changed entirely, and it now only revolves around her daughter. Devi's papa jokingly added that he was the slave of one master now, and there are two now.
