National Award-winning actress, Kalki Koechlin needs no introduction. Her acting chops have definitely been lauded by the fans. Some of her impeccable movies include Dev D, Shanghai, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Margarita With A Straw among so many others. Apart from her contributions to the world of cinema, she is also known for her gorgeous beauty and charming personality, which are simply unmissable. In her personal life, she is currently living a blissful life with her beau, Guy Hershberg and their daughter, Sappho. For the unversed, Kalki was previously married to eminent filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap.
In a recent interview with Mashable India, Kalki Koechlin opened up about her life with ex-husband, Anurag Kashyap. For the unversed, the duo had crossed paths and eventually fell in love during the shooting of the film, Dev D. Subsequently, they got married in 2011. However, after irreconcilable issues crept up in their marriage, the duo opted for a divorce in 2015. And now, recalling a moment from her life with her ex-husband, Anurag, Kalki mentioned how he was the one who taught her to speak a few cuss words in Hindi. In her words:
“I remember when I first bonded with Anurag, we were drinking a few whiskeys together, and he taught me swear words. This is fun for entertainment, but I do not use it for actual conversation."

In another segment of the interview, Kalki had revealed the extreme criticisms that she faced when she opted to have a child out of wedlock with her boyfriend, Guy Hershberg. For the unversed, it was in 2020 that Kalki gave birth to her daughter, Sappho with her Israeli musician beau. Speaking up about the same, Kalki highlighted how at that time, she was just out of her divorce and her beau, too, did not want to get married. Calling it a conscious decision, she mentioned:
“Not being married…I was already divorced. He was like, ‘I’m not interested in marriage.’ So we just took a conscious decision not to marry but we were living together.”
In one of her previous interviews with Siddhaarth Aalambayan on the show, The Male Feminist, Kalki recalled her initial years in the city. She revealed how she was often mistaken as a white girl, and was enquired for carrying drugs with her. Moreover, she revealed the minute she used to start speaking in Tamil, the same people immediately changed their tones and started to refer her as akka.

During her interview in Kareena Kapoor’s chat show, What Women Want, Kalki once opened up on the kind of friendly equation she shared with her ex-husband, Anurag Kashyap. She revealed that although it happened organically, it took place over a lot of time. Moreover, reflecting on her past with him, she added that they were never meant to be with one another.
