Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are hailed as the power couple in Bollywood. The couple got married on June 3, 1973, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Later, the duo hopped on to the parenthood journey after they welcomed their kids, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Moreover, Amitabh and Abhishek and doting grandparents to their loving grandkids, Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan. Recently, a video of the duo went viral on Reddit, where Jaya revealed that Amitabh is not romantic. However, netizens blamed the actor for Jaya's bitter nature.
Recently, a video of Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, Jaya Bachchan from Simi Garewal's show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal went viral on Reddit. In the video, on being asked by the host if Amitabh is romantic, Jaya jokingly replied that he has not been romantic with her and mentioned that he is very shy. She also mentioned that he might have been a romantic person if he had a girlfriend. Listening to this, Simi immediately popped the following question and asked if he was romantic when they were in a relationship. To this, Jaya stated that Amitabh hardly spoke when they were dating.

Soon after the video went viral on the internet, netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. While some called the interview "passive aggressive", other blamed Amitabh for Jaya's bitter nature. One of the Reddit users reacted to the video and commented, "Though I dislike Jaya for her rudeness, I can really understand from where it's coming from. It's really heart breaking to see how her marital life panned out." Another comment can be read as, "I agree. The marriage has taken a toll on her mental health for sure. By age she's gotten more bitter and spiteful." One more user commented, "The whole interview is bizarre. Shows how toxic and forced their whole marriage is. It's sad it's lasted as long as it has. Thanks to old beliefs."
Earlier, in an old of Amitabh and Jaya from the same show, the actress talked about her marriage with Amitabh and mentioned that she was frightened. On being asked about the reason behind it by Simi, Jaya revealed that Amitabh is the only person who she thought could dictate her and she would happily allow it. However, Jaya's take on Amitabh dictating her didn't go well with the Reddit users who ended up trolling the actress. Earlier, Jaya and her daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda had graced Navya Naveli Nanda's podcast show, What The Hell Navya. During the episode, the actress revealed that her husband, Amitabh Bachchan had one condition before getting married to her. Talking about the same, Jaya stated:
"We had decided we will marry in October, because by then my work would have reduced. But he had told me, ‘I definitely don’t want a wife who will be 9 to 5. Please work, but not every day. You choose your projects and work with the right people."
