Jaya Bachchan is one of the stunning actresses of her generation. Her role as the lead character in the 1971 film, Guddi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and written by Gulzar, has made an unerasable place in millions of hearts. However, when she was at the peak of her career, she got married to the love of her life, Amitabh Bachchan, and soon got blessed with two kids, Abhishek and Shweta. Thus, she took a short sabbatical to take care of her family. But she has already returned to silver screens and was last seen in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, co-starring Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in prominent roles.

Amitabh Bachchan pens a gratitude-filled birthday note for Jaya Bachchan

Now, as on April 9, 2024, Jaya Bachchan turned 76 years old, her darling husband, Amitabh Bachchan penned a heartfelt birthday note for her in one of his recent blogs. On her special day, Amitabh expressed his gratitude towards her on his blog, and talked about his 'better half'. Mentioning that she requires no further introduction, he extended his greetings towards her. He wrote:

"It is in the morn of another family birth .. of which that has required no explanation .. the better half celebrates her birthday TODAY , and all the greetings for her are recognised and shown gratitude, as always .."

Amitabh reveals there was a quiet family get-together at midnight for Jaya

In the same blog, Amitabh then revealed that they spent Jaya's birthday very intimately at midnight. He mentioned that the celebration was marked with the love and presence of the immediate family members. However, it is still unknown who all were present among the Bachchan clan, during Jaya's cake-cutting ceremony. Amitabh penned:

"A quiet family ‘bring in’ for the 9th on the midnight hour .. and the love of immediate family presence."

For the unversed, apart from walking with one another after so many years of marriage, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have also worked together in many movies, including Abhimaan, Sholay, Zanjeer, Silsila, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and many others. Thus, they have a beautiful friendship at the top of any other relation. And since the onset of their granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda's podcast, What The Hell Navya, Jaya has been making several unknown revelations from her life. During one of the episodes, Navya asked her about putting romance in the middle of friendship. To this, Jaya revealed how her husband, Amitabh has always remained one of her closest friends, and that she has never hidden anything from him.

Time and again, Navya along with her two guests on the show, Jaya and Shweta Bachchan keep revealing secrets from their lives. Once, in one of the episodes of her podcast, the youngster talked about the importance for everyone to grow and evolve with changing times. Adding to the same notion, Navya also mentioned that her nana-nani are also constantly trying to adapt to the same. Heaping praises on them, she added that this process is not easy, but she is glad that her grandparents are undergoing it. To this, Jaya added how she and Amitabh too, think that everyone needs to do so, otherwise, one will fall behind. Jaya then also added that the more mistakes one makes during one's journey in life, the more experiences one has. Thus, according to the veteran actress, everyone should have their own independent journey.
