Dharmendra tied the knot with his second wife, Hema Malini, when he was already married to his first wife, Prakash Kaur and blessed with his four kids, Sunny Deol, Ajeita Deol, Bobby Deol, and Vijeta Deol. Afterwards, Dharmendra and Hema became proud parents to their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Thus, there has always been a tiff between Dharmendra's families until a while back, when Esha, Sunny, Bobby and Ahana were spotted together at the special screening of Gadar 2.
According to a BollywoodLife report, Sunny Deol will celebrate the first-ever Raksha Bandhan with his step-sisters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol in 2023. A source close to the Deols revealed that there is a change of heart between the step brothers and sisters. Thus, they have thought of celebrating the festival together in Esha's house. The source can be quoted as saying:
"Sunny Paaji is extremely happy at this moment because he witnessed the long-time desired success with Gadar 2, and hence he wants to forget all the past and focus on the present. And this year he might visit his sister's place to tie Rakhi along with brothers Bobby Deol and Abhay Deol."

On August 12, 2023, Esha hosted a special screening of her brother, Sunny's recently released film, Gadar 2. Thus, along with Esha and Sunny, the event was also attended by Bobby, Ahana and some of their close ones. It was the first time we saw Dharmendra's children posing together for the paps stationed outside the event. Sunny and Bobby cutely side-hugged their sister, Esha, while posing for the lens. Later, the trio was joined by Ahana and her son. And as soon as a fan page shared a video, Dharmendra re-shared it on his IG page with an old Hindi song, 'Behna ka abhimaan tu'. For the unversed, Sunny Deol's son, Karan Deol recently tied the knot with the love of his life, Drisha Acharya. However, Hema Malini and her daughters, Esha and Ahana, didn't attend the family wedding. However, soon after the wedding, on June 20, 2023, just like a doting bua, Esha shared a wish for her nephew, Karan. She shared an IG story, wherein she wished the newly-married couple for their new beginnings.
