Dimple Kapadia is one of Bollywood‘s renowned actresses who continues to be part of many hit movies even now. Dimple made her acting debut at the age of 14 with the 1973 film, Bobby, co-starring Rishi Kapoor. The film gained her immense stardom, and following this, she appeared in several movies, including Saagar, Ram Lakhan, Rudaali, Dil Chahta Hai, Tenet and Pathaan. However, there was one such incident when Dimple rejected a film alongside Amitabh Bachchan. For the same, she also regretted it later.
It was in 1985 when Dimple Kapadia rejected a movie with Amitabh Bachchan. However, she also regretted her decision later. The film was Manmohan Desai-directorial Mard, which, after getting rejected by Dimple, started Amitabh Bachchan, Amrita Singh, Dara Singh, Prem Chopra and many others. Revealing the reasons behind her decision in an interview with Filmfare, Dimple was also heard praising the Deewar actor for his onscreen presence and personality. Dimple mentioned that Amitabh has impeccable timing and said:
“Amitabh is undoubtedly the best. No one has his kind of range and style. And above all, he has impeccable timing, the hallmark of a great actor.”

In the same conversation, Dimple mentioned that she had rejected the Amitabh starrer film since she was working on the movie, Pataal Bhairavi, which also starred Jeetendra and Jaya Prada in the lead, at that time. She regretted her stupid decision, which is how she lost the opportunity to work with Amitabh. In Dimple's words:
“Yes, I think he’s simply terrific, and it was bloody stupid of me to refuse Manmohan Desai’s Mard opposite him. I am really crazy, you know. Here I turn down a Manmohan Desai film and on the other hand, I go an accept a stupid song and dance in Paatal Bhairavi for no earthly reason."
Further, Dimple stated that because of the fees, she rejected the movie. However, she also confessed that she did the role in Pataal Bhairavi only for financial gain and not artistic merit. She continued:
"I could have cried and run off when I turned up on the sets and realised what they expected me to do. Imagine prancing around like a monkey just for cash. And yet I turned down an offer with Amitabh just because we couldn’t agree on what I should be paid!”

On the work front, Dimple Kapadia was seen in a cameo role in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One —Shiva. Afterwards, Dimple was also seen in Siddharth Anand‘s action movie, Pathaan, Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and the crime series titled Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo, released in Disney + Hotstar. Next, she will be seen in Saurabh Shukla’s Jab Khuli Kitaab, co-starring Pankaj Kapur.
