It looks like all is not well between Dharmendra and Hema Malini after the latter wasn't invited to his grandson, Karan Deol's wedding with Drisha Acharya. The yesteryear actor penned a public apology for his second wife, Hema Malini and their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. For the unversed, Sunny Deol, who is Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur's son, had not invited Hema Malini to his son's wedding, but he had personally invited his step-sister, Esha Deol.
Now, it seems like Hema Malini and her daughter, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, are deeply hurt by this action of Dharmendra's first family. Just a week after, Karan Deol's grand wedding in Mumbai, which all the close family and friends attended, Dharmendra penned a public apology for Hema Malini. On June 28, 2023, Dharmendra took to his IG handle and shared a photo with Esha Deol.

Dharmendra also addressed Esha, Ahana and Hema and shared how much he loves and respects them. He added that he should have spoken to them personally and put a folded hand emoji. He wrote:
"Esha, Ahana, Hema all my darling kids and loving Takhtani’s Vohra’s l love you and respect you all from the core of my heart, age and illness is telling upon me I could have spoken personally to to you. but (folded hand emoji)."
Dharmendra also shared an IG story, wherein he posed with his sons-in-law and grandkids. In the photo, he was cutting his birthday cake.
For the unversed, Esha Deol is the first daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She is the half-sister of Sunny Deol and shares a warm bond with him. On June 20, 2023, Esha Deol shared a wish for her nephew, Karan Deol. She shared an IG story, wherein she wished the newly-married couple for their new beginnings. Her note could be read as:
"Congratulations Karan and Drisha. Wishing you both a lifetime of togetherness and happiness."
Everyone thought they would finally see Sunny Deol and Esha Deol together in one frame. However, it never happened, while Esha was invited to the celebrations of Sunny's son, Karan's wedding. The actress decided not to go as Hema Malini didn't receive the invitation. As per a report in BollywoodLife, Esha wasn't part of Karan and Drisha's pre-wedding festivities either.
Esha Deol has always fondly talked about her step-brother, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. When she got married in 2012, everyone thought that her half-brothers would attend her wedding and would break the media's notion of disputes between the family. But Sunny and Bobby skipped the celebrations, despite them being the only brothers. However, their cousin brother, Abhay Deol, performed the rituals of Esha's wedding.
According to sources, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol skipped the wedding as they didn't want to hurt their mother, Prakash Kaur's sentiments. But the Deol brothers made sure to send their token of love in the form of gifts for their half-sister, Esha.
This is not the first time when Dharmendra accepted his mistake. Earlier, in 2019, Dharmendra trolled Hema Malini for her cleanliness drive. When a Twitter user asked him if Hema Malini has ever even picked up a broom in her entire life, Dharmendra replied:
"Haan films main, mujhe bhi anaadi lag rahi thi. Maine magar bachpan mein, apni maa ka hamesha haath bataya hai. Mai jhaadoo mein maahir tha. I love cleanliness."
However, Dharmendra instantly apologised to his wife in the cutest way possible. Dharmendra tweeted, "Kuchh bhi keh baithta hoon. kuchh bhi KI bhawna ko. Kuchh bhi samajh baithte hain yaar log. TWEET BADSHAH. kuchh bhi kiya baat jhaadu ki bhi… tauba tauba... kabhi na karon ga. Hum ka maafi de do maalik."
