Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwaryaa’s marriage with Tollywood hunk, Dhanush were one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings back in 2004. It was a starry affair and a happy celebration for the couple and their family members. The duo is blessed with two sons, Yatra and Linga. Unfortunately, back in January 2022, they announced their separation to the world, due to reasons best known to them. However, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush have continued to maintain an amicable bonding even after their split, as they co-parent their sons together.
According to a recent report, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and her ex-husband, Dhanush have finally decided to officiate their divorce, after two years of separation. A source close to the couple, disclosed to India Today that the celeb duo have finally taken this mutual decision and filed an official petition for their divorce under section 13B at the Chennai family court. For the unversed, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had announced their separation back in 2022.

On January 18, 2022, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth broke millions of hearts when they announced their consented decision to break their marriage and move separate ways. The once much-in-love couple took to their social media handle and dropped identical picture notes talking about such a massive decision in their lives. As they ended their marriage of 18 years, they expressed:
“18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting... Today we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."
Previously, a report by the Hindustan Times dismissed speculations about Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Dhanush trying to sort out their differences and reconciling once more. Instead, a source close to the couple disclosed to the news portal, how the actor wasn't working towards mending differences with his ex-wife. Moreover, the source added that the two of them have found peace in their lives separately and have drifted far apart from one another.

In one of her earlier interviews with music composer, Anirudh Ravichander, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth made a rare comment about her ex-husband, Dhanush. It all began when the filmmaker remarked how her ex-husband had a very big contribution to make the music composer’s successful career. In her words:
“I am happy that he has become one of the most sought-after music directors. However, his entry into the film industry has no connection with me. He is my cousin but his musical talents were recognised by Dhanush. He encouraged him to compose the songs of 3. His entry into the cinema industry was fully because of Dhanush.”
