Dakota even appeared for Coldplay's October 2, 2023, concert with her mother, Melanie Griffith.

The duo embarked on their romantic journey in 2017 and publicly announced their relationship in 2018. Later, in 2021, Dakota opened up to Elle UK on her relationship with Chris and added that the duo prefer to remain indoors for all their dates and parties. She added:
"We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private. Most of the partying takes place inside my house."
