Through this decision, they can easily live a life without worrying about the continuously ticking biological clock. Well then, take a look at some of these inspirational celebrity divas who set examples of the modern feminist world by freezing their eggs early on in their lives.
Talented producer-director, Ekta Kapoor is a living epitome of the powerful women generation of the modern world. Head of the prestigious Balaji Telefilms and ALT Balaji, Ekta has set an inspiration for every woman out there by being a single parent at the age of 47. For the unversed, Ekta who is single to date, decided to freeze her eggs when she was 36. Thereafter, it was on January 27, 2019 that she utilised her frozen eggs and welcomed her son, Ravie via surrogacy. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she opened up on her decision to freeze her eggs ahead of time and mentioned:
“I had stored my eggs when I was 36. Had a calling for a long time I don’t know what was it. I don’t know I thought I might get married, might not. Very late, if it happens."
Veteran yesteryear actress, Tanuja’s youngest daughter, Tanisha Mukerji has charted quite a mediocre career graph with her acting stint in Bollywood. However, it was through her stint in television reality shows like Bigg Boss 7 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 that she bagged household fame. Speaking of her personal life, she is still unmarried at the age of 45, despite having made headlines for a few of her linkups with actors like Armaan Kohli and late Sidharth Shukla. Nonetheless, she is not worried about settling down in life since she has frozen her eggs at the age of 39. She spoke on the same in an interview with ETimes and mentioned how she wanted to do it by 33, but her doctor had stopped her from doing so. In her words:
“I wanted to freeze my eggs at the age of 33! At that time, when I went to my doctor (who finally froze my eggs now)… it's funny but she stopped me from doing so at that time. While she told me it takes a toll on your body, she adviced I should do it when I have no hope of conceiving a baby."
Popular television persona, Rakhi Sawant is known for her controversial commentaries and bubbly nature. While her personal life has been troubled for the longest time and the fact that it always makes it to the headline, nevertheless she too has already made a correct choice for herself by freezing her eggs in time. She spoke on the same during her stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 14 and revealed that it was the only way she would be able to attain motherhood. In her words:
“My priority is to become a mother and experience motherhood. I don't need a Vicky Donor for my child, I need a father. I don't want to be a single mother. I don't know how this will happen, but I really wish it does. I just hope there comes a solution for this as I still have my eggs frozen."
Former Miss World and actress, Diana Hayden made a popular name for herself with her participation in the reality show, Bigg Boss. Coming to her personal life, she is married to American businessman, Collin Dick and the duo are proud parents to their three children. Incidentally, Diani’s pregnancies were a result of her having frozen her eggs way ahead at the age of 31. Speaking of the same, she called it a choice that made her feel free. In her words:
“I wouldn't want to get married just to have a kid, or just to do the conventional thing. So, you give yourself that option, where there's no pressure. I know how I felt when I froze my eggs. I just felt so free. Because I felt time is on my side. I can make my choices, make the right decisions and lead my life.”
Popular television and film actress, Mona Singh needs no introduction. The bubbly Punjabi lady has always been quite unapologetic with her views and has never paid any heed to the prevalent societal demands. Thus, not only did she get married quite late in her life, she also froze her eggs at an early age so that she would be able to live her life with her husband, Shyam Gopalan without the worry of having a child soon enough. She spoke about the same in an interview and mentioned:
“I did that at the age of 34. Because I have gotten married now, I want to chill with my partner and travel the world with him."
Bahu Humari Rajnikanth fame, Riddhima Pandit is one of the new age actresses from the television world who decided to plan her life on her own terms and not succumb to societal expectations. And so, at the age of 32 in 2022, she froze her eggs so as to be liberated from the idea of having to marry and become a mother to meet everyone’s pressure. In an interview with ETimes, she opened up on her decision to do so and mentioned:
“I feel liberated. Freezing eggs was on my mind for a long time, and it seemed right to go ahead with it. I am proud of my decision.”
Successful entrepreneur of the Apollo Group of Hospitals and wife of Tollywood superstar, Ram Charan, Upasana Kamineni has been heading the headlines all over. The madly in love couple is on cloud nine these days as they are expecting their first child after ten years of their marriage. While this fact has raised many eyebrows, nonetheless, it was a conscious decision for the couple, who had planned it right through. Moreover, Upasana had frozen her eggs back in time so that they could focus on their careers and become parents when they would be suitably fit. The mommy-to-be spoke on the same in an interview with Mid Day, Upasana mentioned:
“Ram and I took a call very early in our marriage when it comes to storing our eggs. We definitely believed that for various reasons we need to focus on our careers at that point in time. Today, both of us are at a stable place where we can afford to take care of the child with the income, we are generating by ourselves and give our child that lifestyle and stability."
Bollywood star and now global icon, Priyanka Chopra is winning hearts worldwide. Married to American pop singer, Nick Jonas, PeeCee welcomed her daughter, Malti in 2022 via surrogacy. However, the actress, too had planned her motherhood journey in advance by freezing her eggs way back in her 30s. She spoke more about the same in an interview and called it an action that made her feel immense freedom. In her words:
“I felt such freedom, I did it in my early thirties and I could continue on an ambitious warpath, I wanted to achieve and I wanted to get to a certain place in my career. Also, I had not met the person with whom I wanted to have children.”
