Bobby Deol is currently gearing up for his next film, Animal, which will present him in a never-seen-before avatar. One glimpse at the trailer of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, and people cannot just miss out on the unbelievable physique built by Bobby for the role. Moreover, his acting prowess as a mute character with a cannibalistic style has left his fans grappling for more. Amidst all the hype for his role, Bobby opened up about choosing the role in the first place.
During a press meet for his film, Animal in Chennai, Bobby Deol talked about playing the antagonistic role in the film. The actor was asked whether he discussed with his family members, especially his brother, Sunny Deol and father, Dharmendra before taking up this raw and cannibalistic-like villainous role. To this, Bobby revealed that neither of the two of them have played many negative roles in their careers, and have instead, done action films. Adding how the Deol’s do not die in their films, Bobby said:
“I don’t think my dad or my brother have done many negative characters. But they have done a lot of action films. I have done a lot of action films in my life. My first film was an action film. It is a Deol thing, the Deols are known to be the action men. There’s also this thing that Deols don’t die.”

Further in the interaction, Bobby talked about his father, Dharmendra doing a lot of action-hero-based roles throughout his career. Calling him a ‘he-man’, Bobby added how he and Ranbir took inspiration from Dharmendra and worked really well on their fitness to achieve a certain look in the film. In his words:
“My dad was the first He-Man and no one can be as tough as my brother. Gadar 2 proved that. He is the real action hero. So, I am lucky that I am a part of Animal and I got to do this action sequence. Ranbir and I really worked hard. The action sequence in the film is going to be so different and so well-choreographed, so real. There are no special effects used in the fight sequences. It is just raw, brutal, like two Animals fighting.”
Earlier, during the trailer launch event of the film, Animal, Bobby Deol sidelined all the appreciation and love which his way, and instead praised his father, Dharmendra for showcasing an exemplary performance even at the age of 87. He took reference from his father’s last film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and revealed how nobody other than Dharmendra could’ve pulled off what he did in the film.

Earlier, Bobby Deol attended the Jagran Film Festival, and opened up on several anecdotes from his personal life. Speaking on the kind of equation he shares with his elder brother, Sunny Deol, he said revealed:
“Since he was 10 years older than me, he left no stone unturned to show that he was superior in every aspect. Despite his poor academic performance, he used to pester me about my studies, making me wonder why he wasn’t concentrating on his own. think his notion was that at least I excelled where he couldn’t. But I didn’t understand it back then. I kept wondering why he was telling me all this when, after all, he was just my brother, not my father. I feel very fortunate that my brother has been.”
