Since then, his fans and family are sharing pictures and videos of him to ease the pain of his loss. Joining them is late Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan, who had kept on posting throwback pictures and videos of his father from their memory lane to keep his memories alive. However, this time around, the youngster has received a beautiful message from Hollywood actor, Kal Penn, who was his father's co-star in the film, The Namesake, which made Babil speechless.

Irrfan Khan

On February 28, 2021, late Bollywood actor, Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan was left speechless after he received an emotional message from his father's iconic film, The Namesake's co-star, Kal Penn on Instagram. The youngster shared a screenshot of the long message he got from Kal, and it was indeed a teary-eyed one as the Hollywood actor called his experience of working with Irrfan Khan 'the greatest artistic happiness'. His message can be read as "Babil, I'm so moved that you reached out, and it means so much to me to hear that story. Thank you. The Namesake is the project I'm most proud of, the one that brought me the greatest artistic happiness - and getting to work with and know your father was such a big part of that. (I think I met you and your brother in Calcutta when we were filming)." Take a look:

Going further in his note, Kal Penn thanked Babil Khan for reaching out to him, as he revealed that he always thought about reaching to him and his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, after Irrfan's demise but wasn't sure how to get in touch with them at the first place. He wrote further in his message, "I've thought of you two and your mom a lot this past year and wasn't sure how to get in touch to share my love and gratitude. It really means so much to me that you reached you. Thank you! — Let me know if you're ever in New York post-pandemic. And please give my love to your mom." The heart-melting gesture from Kal Penn has stunned Babil, and the youngster wrote, "What is happening? How to write a reply when you're speechless? @kalpenn" atop the picture. It was late Irrfan Khan's birth anniversary on January 7, 2021. His doting son, Babil Khan, had also taken to his IG handle and had shared an unseen video of his baba Irrfan Khan, where the family was seen face timing with him. Along with the video, Babil had written, "You never identified with institutions such as contractual marriage and birthday celebrations. Perhaps, that is why I don't remember anyone's birthdays because you never remembered mine and never encouraged me to remember yours. It was just normal to us what seemed absurd from the outside, we celebrated everyday (bringing personal experiential authenticity to the cliche). On the occasion, Mamma would have to remind us both; but this time I could not forget yours if I tried. It's your birthday Baba. Shoutout to all the technologically inept parents, notice that they did not finish saying that they miss me."
