It has been more than a year since Irrfan Khan, the finest actor we had in the cinema, left this world with his iconic legacy. Irrfan, with his unflinching passion, made his way from Doordarshan to Hollywood and became an inspiration for aspiring actors. Irrfan left behind some memorable stories and characters that changed the face of Indian cinema and created an irreplaceable void in the film industry as God doesn't create anyone like him anymore. There wasn't, isn't and will never be anyone like Irrfan!
Ever since Irrfan Khan's demise, his son, Babil Khan has been keeping him alive in the hearts of his millions of fans by sharing memories of the late actor. Babil's IG feed is filled with unseen memories and untold stories of his baba, Irrfan. Last year, in October, Babil had posted a video of Irrfan and Sutapa Sikdar, singing the song, Mera Saaya Saath Hoga. Babil had captioned the video as "Mera saya ki tera saya? Dropping ma off at the airport now."
Now, Babil Khan posted a couple of pictures of himself, chilling on an inflatable boat at his own private lake. Babil revealed in the comments section of his post that the lake was given to him by his baba, Irrfan Khan. Informing that he has signed all his inheritance to his mamma, Sutapa Sikdar, Babil wrote, "@tushar_tyagi guess what? I signed all my inheritance to mamma cause that was the right thing to do but baba left me this lake. So now I have a private lake of my own and I plan to breed endangered species of fish here!"
On Valentine's Day 2021, Babil Khan had posted a beautiful picture of his parents, Irrfan Khan and Sutapa Sikdar. Revealing why blatantly the concept of 'Valentine's Day' was disregarded in their family, Babil had explained, "I wish I could explain how much this concept of 'valentines day' was blatantly disregarded in our family because it does try to say that "abhi bhai saal mein ek din to kuch special kardo apni "Mumtaz" ke liye". Brother, I hope you are dedicating every waking second in an exploration of your loved one and not waiting for 'Valentines day'."
On Irrfan Khan's first death anniversary, Babil Khan had posted a picture of his baba, who used to find joy in simple things even when the chemotherapy burned him from the inside. Babil had written, "Chemo burns you from the inside, so to find joy in the simple things, like building your own table to write your own journals. There is a purity, I have not yet discovered. There is a legacy that has already been concluded by my Baba himself. A full stop. Nobody can ever replace him. Nobody will ever be able to" in the caption.
Wishing for the things they would have done together, Babil Khan had continued, "To the greatest best friend, companion, brother, father, I ever had and ever will have. I love you so much, for the rest of this chaos we are choosing to call life. I would have built a space monument that could have taken us to the furthest parts of a blackhole singularity you were always intrigued by, but I would have been there with you Baba, and we could have gone together, hand in hand. (Exploring the last mysteries)."
