Famous singer, Arjun Kanungo has been hailed as the leading singer and songwriter. He is famous for his catchy party songs like Baaki Baatein Peene Baad, Tu Na Mera and many more. It is said that behind every successful man is a woman, and well, we think that behind the success of Arjun's singing career, it is her mother, Sheila Kanungo. Not many know that Sheila Kanungo is a professional pistol shooter, and has won many medals in tournaments including Asian Games and Common Wealth Games.
Recently, Arjun Kanungo hosted an Ask Me Anything session on the widely-loved discussion platform, Reddit. When a fan asked him about his mother being a part of the rifle shoot for the Maharashtra state team. He corrected his fan and revealed that his mother has been part of the Pistol shooting, and representing India for the last 30 years. He was quoted as saying:
Pistol, not rifle. My mom represented (and is still representing) India for the last 30 years! She has won quite a few medals in international tournaments including Asian games and Commonwealth games. I got into shooting because of this.

Arjun Kanungo's parents had separated when he was young, and his mother single-handedly raised him. In an interview with Republic World, Arjun revealed that it took him a lot of time to convince his mother, but she eventually agreed. He was quoted as saying:
"We did not have a lot of money, but one thing that my mom always taught me was whatever you do, you do well. Better don’t do it than doing it half-heartedly. I have lived my whole life with this attitude because after completing my 12th standard, I did not want to be an engineer, just to be an engineer or a doctor for the sake of being a doctor. I wanted to be passionate about what I did. So, I decided whatever I will do, I want to know everything about it, be really good at it, and I want to love it. That’s how I found music."
Well, Arjun is definitely raised by a strong woman!
