Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma is happily married to Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli. For the unversed, Anushka reportedly dated Ranveer Singh for around two years after they came close to each other while shooting for their films, Band Baaja Baraat and Ladies vs Ricky Behl. After their split, the duo remained cordial and even worked together in Zoya Akhtar's film, Dil Dhadakne Do, which was released in 2015.
In a 2012 interview with Filmfare, Anushka Sharma was asked to describe her relationship with Ranveer Singh. The actress shared that though they didn't talk to each other much, they didn't have any bad blood. She further added that Ranveer had got a great headstart so he must try to be humble and grounded. In Anushka's words:
"We don't speak as much as we used to but there is no bad blood between us. I respect him as an actor. He saw so much success with his first film. Now it is important for him to be serious about what he is doing and take responsibility for it. When you get the kind of headstart he did, it is important to remain grounded and humble. I'll always care for him."

Further in the interview, Anushka Sharma was asked what sort of girl would be apt for Ranveer Singh, and she gave a surprising response. The actress mentioned that Ranveer should marry a girl who is not very ambitious, knows how to take care of him and his home, and is the quintessential housewife. She added:
"He will need someone who is not very ambitious. Someone who will be able to take care of him, his home and be the quintessential housewife. Someone who dresses up really well and waits for him to return home. Trust me, some guys may laugh at this but Ranveer takes these things very seriously. (Laughs) You can pick up any matrimonial ad from the newspaper, and that is the girl Ranveer needs in his life."
Back then, Anushka was often seen hanging out with Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. When she was asked if all of them belonged to the same group of friends, she shared that they hang out whenever they have time. However, she also mentioned that she likes to hang out with people more her age and said:
"See, I wouldn't say that Ranbir, Shahid and Ranveer are one group of friends but when we get the time we definitely hang out together. I prefer hanging out with people more my age."

Now that Anushka Sharma's old interview has resurfaced on Reddit, the actress' statements didn't go down well with the netizens. They flooded the post's comment section and slammed Anushka for calling Ranveer a manchild and saying that the latter should get married to a housewife. A user stated, "Interesting she thought when the opposite happened, life is so strange." Another penned, "Lol she exactly become what she thought ranveer wanted and ranveer married the exact opposite."
