When we first saw Sonam Kapoor on our screens, we knew that she is a Kapoor princess and her love story will be nothing less than a fairytale. And on May 8, 2018, she had proved us right when she took the plunge with Delhi-based businessman, Anand Ahuja in a big fat wedding ceremony. She wrote her own #EveryDayPhenomenal love story and left our hearts flutter when the two took each other's name and officially became, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Sonam Ahuja. Sonam has always stood for what she believes and she has made us believe that she is just another girl, who is a hopeless romantic and prefers to keep her private life private, away from the media glare. From balancing work to sharing a great relationship with her in-laws, she made us believe in the power of true love that helps you achieve impossibilities.
Today (June 9, 2019), Sonam turns 34, and her husband, Anand made sure to make her feel super special with his Instagram post. He shared a couple of pictures from their reception ceremony last year, and wrote, "#girlfriendforever #everydayphenomenal. Happy Birthday to my world". To this Sonam instantly replied, "Love you the most in the world." Take a look at the pictures below:
Coming back to their love story, in an interview with the Vogue, Anand had spilled the beans on how they became friends. He had said, "The first time we met, we talked about our respective work. I was just struck by the fact that I could speak to her so openly about everything. We were chatting on Snapchat one night and she said, ‘Stop texting, just call me.’ And we spoke for two hours that night. Our friendship started over superficial things like vegan chocolates and sneakers but soon we were having deeper conversations." In an interview with Vogue, Sonam had revealed the first date details, and had shared, “I was apparently wearing the worst sneakers he had ever seen. I keep telling him that he fell in love with me despite my bad sneaker game… That day, walking and talking in London, I knew he was the love of my life. He apparently knew the first time we spoke on the phone… It was just so easy”.
For those who don't know, Sonam and Anand are living in a long-distance marriage because of their respective work commitments. In a throwback interview with Elle India, Anand had revealed about the same and had shared, “Long distance can get tiring, but we're lucky that Delhi, London and Mumbai are all home, for work. It could be worse, but it obviously could be better. It's hard to not be together, especially after you get around to being married and you want to have that time. But Sonam's got a hectic schedule this year — she's got four films coming up. But we make it work. We have certain tricks — for example, we always have a meal together over Skype.”
But at times the work definitely comes in between the love, and Anand has always been open up about his feelings. In an interview with the MensXP, he had shared how Sonam had ruined his honeymoon plan, "It's funny. Sonam is always messing on my plans. Last year, she had canned right after the wedding. We didn't do a honeymoon. We did a really short one in Japan. This year, we were again planning to go to Japan but then her 'Zoya Factor' schedule is there and it has changed a bit. We are not going in June, but we will go after her birthday. We are so fortunate that with our schedules, we travel so much and get to spend time. We will be in London for the anniversary.
