It was on November 26, 2008, when a series of merciless terror attacks in the financial capital, Mumbai, had numbed the entire nation. The terrorist attack was so inhuman that a total of 175 people were killed, and more than 300 people were severely wounded in the massacre. The shocking Mumbai terror attacks were led by a group of 10 members of the terror organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Although the city of dreams has made a stellar comeback after the terror attack, there's no doubt that even after completing 13 years of the Mumbai attacks, the wounds are still fresh in the hearts of people who had lost their loved ones. The popular actor, Ashish Chowdhry, was one of the unlucky people who bid farewell to his loved ones in the most unacceptable and heartbreaking way. The actor had lost his sister, Monica and his brother-in-law, Ajit Chhabria, during the 26/11 terror attacks.
Every year, Ashish Chowdhry pays his respects to the brave officers who had lost their lives, saving the lives of people during the Mumbai terror attacks. Every year, the actor also remembers his late sister, Monica and brother-in-law, Ajit Chhabria, and pens painful notes for them on his social media handles. For instance, last year, on November 26, 2020, Ashish had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared three memorable pictures with his sister from their memory lane. While in the first picture, we could see the brother-sister duo giving a tight hug to each other while posing for the camera. The other two pictures are from their growing days.
Along with the priceless pictures, Ashish Chowdhry had penned a heartbreaking note in the caption, in which he had admitted that he misses Monica and Ajit every single day of his life since their demise. His note could be read as:
"Not a day completes without you, Mona… I miss Jiju and you everyday… Just keep looking at me as I do even now.. Coz you make me stronger until today.. Just like we laughed and played together everyday, you still stand right beside me each moment, each second.. And that makes me breathe right even today."
For the unversed, Ashish Chowdhry is married to Samita Bangargi, and the couple is blessed with three kids, Agasthya, Salara, and Sammah. Also, after the demise of his sister, Monica and her husband, Ajit Chhabria, Ashish had taken full responsibility for their children, Kanishq and Ananaya. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Ashish had opened up about taking care of all the five kids during the COVID-19 pandemic. Answering this, he had said:
"I've always maintained that I'm a father of five. I keep telling them that this may not be the worst, and it's not that anything will not come after this. We've to be prepared, whether it is death, accident, natural calamity or pandemic, we have to overcome it. We, as a family, have gone through worse in our life, especially being victims of terror attacks. We've gone through way too much in life for my kids to realise that this is not an issue that can't be handled"
Rest in peace, Monica and Ajit!
