The streamer spoke about the incident during a recent livestream and revealed that she made an honest mistake. This was because she missed scanning at a self-checkout counter.
A report by the Poprant claimed that Lin revealed the alleged incident took place while she was shopping at a retail store and that she used a handheld barcode scanner at a self-checkout point. She had shared that she had rushed through the entire checkout process and then had accidentally failed to scan the scissors in the right manner, before she exited the store. Well, sometime later, Lin alleged that the store employees had stopped her to check the security clip and then reportedly showed her the unscanned item.
The report further alleged that Lin, in her livestream, had expressed her anger over how the situation had suddenly escalated. She alleged that she had expected the store to simply ask her to return and pay for the scissors, but they instead reportedly involved the law enforcement too. Lin further claimed that the police officers who had responded to the scene reportedly had acknowledged that the incident may have been totally accidental, though she claimed to have been detained and spent a night in jail over a scan she had missed, which involved USD 4 million scissors. Well, the alleged incident did spread on the social media and gave rise to conversations related to her earlier shopping-related controversies.
Well, Nin has already revealed that the employees at the store may not have recognised her, a famous creator. She did claim that her online reputation was being hampered, and the report claimed that netizens were left divided. Others had argued that the nature of repeated claims had raised more questions related to the controversy. The report also alleged that Lin had previously faced backlash over alleged shoplifting incidents. It was in 2025 that clips went viral on social media, showcasing her leaving a Target store without paying for certain items during the livestream. The earlier controversy had led to disciplinary action related to her Twitch account, and many creators and viewers had criticised.
A report by The Times of India claimed that a clip from May 2024 had surfaced that had received a lot of backlash. The clip had showcased Nina and another creator allegedly in a camera moment with FaZe Silky’s assistant, and many fans felt that it looked consensual. A user seeing the video wrote, "If it were a dude doing that, he would already be in prison, btw. No means no. If he had defended himself effectively, he would be in jail." Another user wrote:
"Let's be honest: if a man behaved this way toward a woman, he would likely be in jail by now. I don't understand why society doesn't take SA seriously when it comes to male. A report by The Times of India revealed that in a clip by Pokimane, Nina was asked about the kind of man she likes. She gave a shocking answer, and her fans called her controlling, extreme, and also slave like. Speaking about the strict rules, Nina shared that she wanted a man who would follow her orders without arguing. She stated that her partner must always listen to her, not talk a lot and also shut up when needed.
Nina further revealed that she wanted her partner to treat business as her top priority and also drop everything the moment she kind of needed anything. Nina had also made it clear that she wanted all the money of her man and believed in sharing the wallet of one another. She expected full financial control over her partner, to monitor him all the time, to have his location on, and to have an AirTag in his car to track his whereabouts.
