Danish Pandor has taken the limelight because of his role in Ranveer Singh's movie, 'Dhurandhar'. The actor played the role of 'Uzair Baloch'.
Aditya Dhar directed Dhurandhar on the opening day, December 5, 2025, minted Rs. 28 crore. The backdrop of the movie is the extremely violent Lyari gang battles in Karachi, amid which a RAW operation takes place. Ranveer Singh plays the role of an undercover agent called 'Hamza' while Akshaye Khanna essays the role of 'Rehmat Dakait'. However, now it is Danish Pandor whose breakout performance in Dhurandhar has made him famous. He played the role of Karachi mobster, 'Uzair Baloch'. Danish played the character with great realism.
Danish has been getting a lot of appreciation for playing the role of 'Uzair'. His intense performance has impressed his fans. For the unversed, the Indian actor started his career as a model and gradually shifted his focus to acting. Danish after starring in Dhurandhar has proved to be one of the most promising stars of Bollywood.
Danish was born on December 22, 1987, in Mumbai. He started his career in the entertainment industry as a model. In 2007, he took part in the Gladrags Manhunt contest and cemented his place among the top five. Danish's interest in acting grew with time, and it was from the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, Mumbai, where the actor did a four-month acting course. Danish managed to continue his college studies while balancing his educational and acting ambitions.
Danish's journey to success in the entertainment industry was not at all easy. Before the actor bagged good roles, he had to work as a model and do small acting jobs. However, with patience and lots of hard work, Danish achieved success. According to a Filmibeat report, the actor reportedly faced casting couch pressure when he started his career.
Danish, after his modelling stint, switched his base to TV. He made his acting debut with Kitni Mohabbat Hai and was also seen in shows such as Agent Raghav, Crime Branch and Ishqbaaz. Danish then expanded his base in the OTT domain. He got a lot of fame with Sacred Games, where he played 'Bada Badariya', and then impressed fans with his work in web series such as Matsya Kaand and Bombers.
Danish has been a versatile actor, having played intense roles throughout his career. A while back, he took to his Instagram handle to thank Ranveer Singh. Danish remembered the first day he met Ranveer during the narration, his trademark energy, madness, precision, and generosity as a co-actor made him believe in Dhurandhar. Danish credited Ranveer for giving him space to perform as an actor and said:
"I had almost all my scenes with you, and to stand opposite someone so committed, so alive in every frame, was both surreal and incredibly motivating. You pushed me, encouraged me, and gave me space to truly perform, hence the chemistry on the screen that feels so alive."
Danish's character, 'Uzair', is being talked about in Aditya Dhar's espionage thriller movie, Dhurandhar. 'Uzair' is shown to be calm and efficient, as compared to the contrasting personality of 'Rehman Dakait' a.k.a Akshaye Khanna. Danish has shared the majority of the screen space with Ranveer Singh, and both have praised each other's teamwork and dedication. Dhurandhar, which runs for three hours and 34 minutes, features a stellar cast of Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan, along with Akshaye and Ranveer.
Danish only has a few scenes in Dhurandhar but his character of 'Uzair' is shown to be merciless. He plays the role of Akshaye Khanna's cousin and is shown to be his right-hand man. Danish's role is crucial in Dhurandhar as he builds the operational framework of the criminal gang. 'Uzair' is shown to follow orders planned by 'Rehman Dakait'.
Ranveer Singh plays the role of the protagonist, an undercover agent. He manages to gain the trust of both 'Uzair' and 'Rehman' and, in the climax, sends 'Uzair' on an insignificant mission- to acquire new supply guns. Danish via the character of 'Uzair' is shown to be naive and 'Hamza' uses his innocence to his advantage.
Danish, after gaining fame in the TV and OTT domains, moved to do movies. 1920: Horrors of the Heart was his first major theatrical release movie, and it marked an important moment in Danish's acting life. The actor was also seen in Double XL and in Chhaava. The actor, earlier in an interview with the Hindustan Times, shared that he is particular about the kind of roles he does. In his words:
"I am very particular with my roles and firstly I try to fit in the premise of the story. If I even have the slightest doubt, I leave the project. When on television, I was not getting the right content, so I took a break. Thankfully OTT projects always brought along that excitement for me and so I will continue explore that space more along with films."
