Here's everything we know about 'Brilliant Minds 2' actor, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart's daughters, Billie Dane and Georgia Dane, amid Eric's battle with ALS.
Eric Dane is one of the greatest actors we have seen on television, especially during the '90s. Among all the characters he has played over the years, there are a few that stand out above the rest. This includes his recurring role as 'Jason Dean' in Charmed and 'Dr. Mark Sloan' in the medical drama, Grey's Anatomy, which he played for 6 consecutive years owing to its popularity. Just last month, in November 2025, Eric Dane made his comeback to the small screen with the second season of NBC's Brilliant Minds. This was the first time we had seen him on TV since he publicly revealed being diagnosed with ALS at the beginning of this year.
While battling with his illness, Eric Dane has been tremendously "grateful" to have his "loving family" by his side. For those unaware, the American actor married Rebecca Gayheart in October 2004. The couple shares two children together – Billie Beatrice Dane and Georgia Geraldine Dane. If you are curious to learn more about Eric's daughters, here's everything we know.
Over half a decade after their marriage, Eric Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, welcomed their first child, Billie Beatrice Dane, on March 3, 2010. When the couple first became pregnant, they were truly happy and shared the news with their fans in September 2009. At the time, Rebecca was often seen out on a stroll, showing off her baby bump. A source close to Eric and his wife even told People that the reason they were so overjoyed to be pregnant was that they had “been trying for so long.”
Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart announced their daughter's name as Billie shortly after she was born. Years later, fans learned that there was a special reason Eric and his wife chose that name in particular for their first child. In 2016, after appearing on Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show, the Brilliant Minds actor revealed that Billie was named after his father and that “whether it was a boy or a girl, the firstborn was gonna be a Billie.”
Being born to parents who belong to the glamour world, Billie naturally had a star aura to her too. Talking about the same, her mother, Rebecca Gayheart, told People in 2012 that “she knows how to steal the spotlight.” According to the Scream 2 actress, it's something Billie gets “from her dad.” At the time of the interview, Billie was only 2 and a half years old.
As Billie continued to grow up, her passion for the entertainment industry also grew, especially after watching her parents. Currently, Billie is a model and dancer. Her proud mom, Rebecca Gayheart, who often shares pictures of her daughter, captioned a post on her Instagram Stories in December 2021: “Congratulations Billie on a BEAUTIFUL dance showcase today #proudmom.” In recent years, Billie has made occasional red carpet appearances alongside her parents. Her last appearance at the time of writing this article was in 2024, when she attended the Bad Boys: Ride or Die premiere in support of her dad, Eric Dane, who was part of the cast.
In June 2024, Billie graduated from middle school. This time, too, Rebecca Gayheart showed support for her daughter and celebrated the milestone by taking to Instagram. She wrote:
"I know you are more than ready for this next chapter," Gayheart wrote. "I have watched you juggle school, ballet and life with tenacity, grace and humor. You’re as beautiful inside as you are on the outside. I’m beyond proud of you Billie and love you 4ever and always."
Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart welcomed their second child, Georgia Geraldine Dane, on December 28, 2011. At the time, a representative for Rebecca announced that the duo celebrated the arrival of their daughter “just in time for the New Year.” Adding to this he said that while both the mother and daughter were “happy and healthy”, the couple's firstborn, Billie, was thrilled to be a big sister. On the other hand, Eric Dane was “getting ready to live in a house full of ladies!”
In recent years, Georgia has grown into an athletic kid. She especially has a passion for volleyball. Her mother, Rebecca, often posts on social media in support of her younger daughter while she is on the court. On top of being a talented volleyball player, she has had a great sense of humour since a young age. During a 2024 interview with Variety, Eric Dane recalled his youngest asking him, “Dad, where did your abs go?” after watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy where he plays the role of ‘Dr. Mark Sloan'.
Additionally, within their family, Georgia seems to be the one with the most carefree attitude. We caught a glimpse of this when, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rebecca talked about her daughter's mindset at the start of the lockdown. Taking to Instagram in April 2020, she said:
"She is the only one in the family who is thriving and not just surviving. She loves being home and finds the joy in most everything she does. I’m so thankful for this kid.”
