The final five 'Age of Attraction' couples had to decide whether to continue their relationships or part ways in a dramatic finale. However, where are they now? Let's find out.
Netflix's Age of Attraction explored whether age gaps can affect romantic compatibility, introducing individuals aged 20 to 60 to help them find their match. The show was hosted by real-life couple Nick Viall (45) and Natalie Joy (27), who themselves have an 18-year age gap. While six couples initially planned to move in together, Jorge and Vanelle split before the finale due to differences, including views on celibacy.
The finale saw five couples: Libby and Andrew, Leah and Chris, Theresa and John, Pfeifer and Derrick, and Vanessa and Logan participate in the Commitment Ceremony. In the finale, each of them had to decide whether to continue their relationship or part ways. So, as we wait for another update on the show's reunion, let's take a quick look at what happened to them after the ceremony. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
The show saw Libby (22) and Andrew (33) find solace with each other despite their 16-year age gap. For the unversed, Andrew was a Baltimore-based bar owner and father of two daughters. On the other hand, Libby, a social media manager from San Diego, was open to exploring where their connection might lead. So, when the time came to decide, Andrew made his decision clear, asked Libby to be his girlfriend, and invited her to meet his kids. While Libby initially hesistaed she ended up saying yes to the bar owner. She stated:
"I want to commit to you. I want a relationship outside of here. I know how important your daughters are to you. If you're willing to open that life to me, I would be happy to be a part of it."
Another couple who made it to the finale was Leah and Chris, with the former being 15 years older than Chris. Although their age gap didn't stop them from moving in together, the couple soon began to have trouble. Chris started to feel overwhelmed by the intensity of their relationship, even admitting to his mom that things had become difficult. While Leah hoped that they would end up together as they had "something special", Chris chose to walk away in the finale, saying, "I felt like it was hard to be myself. And that's why ultimately I feel like this partnership is not right."
Yoga teacher, stylist and model, Theresa (54) explored her connection with John (27). The latter hailed from Miami and worked in software sales. While their chemistry was initially through the roof, doubts began to creep in once they moved to the outside world. Things got dicey as Theresa struggled with their age difference, especially given that her three children are close in age to John. However, at the finale, while she initially looked ready to walk away, things shifted when she shared a letter from her children to John, offering their support for the relationship. Having her children's seal of approval, Theresa felt sure in their relationship and stated:
"It makes me feel a lot more confident and happy to know they wrote that to you. I had no idea what it said. I don't want to walk away. In fact, I want to walk toward something with you."
The 23-year-old, Pfeifer, found comfort in the arms of 43-year-old medical salesman and father of two, Derrick. At first, their relationship seemed easy, but when it came to meeting each other's families, Pfeifer didn't seem too sure about introducing a 20-year-old man. She questioned whether moving to Texas was the right choice, especially after promising herself she'd never let a man dictate her life decisions. However, her decision at the Commitment Ceremony proved that love can conquer all. Derrick responded by handing her a key to his home, saying, "My place is our place". She was quoted as saying:
"If I were to leave here without you, I may regret it for the rest of my life. Today, I'm putting the unknowns aside, and I'm trusting my heart. I am 100 per cent committed to moving to Dallas and starting our journey together."
Vanessa and Logan left the retreat hand in hand despite their 20-year age gap. However, their transition to living under one roof was not the easiest journey. The pair often clashed, with Vanessa frustrated by their lack of intimacy and Logan feeling like she didn't fully respect him as a partner. Nonetheless, neither were willing to give up and kept fighting through every challenge, leading us to the final moment when Logan shocked viewers by getting down on one knee and proposing.
