Tommy's death was confirmed by his wife, who, on social media, penned a long emotional note. He is survived by his wife, Sandra and their son, Thomas. Taking to her social media handle, country musician, Tommy Detamore's wife, Sandra, addressed her husband as the 'love of her life' and praised him as a musician, producer, collaborator, mentor, and creative force in Country Music. Sandra added that Tommy's career set an example for others and inspired other musicians around him and shaped another genre. Tommy, according to Sandra, was at peace in his final moments, and the family is trying to find peace in that knowledge.
In her note, Sandra also highlighted a few accomplishments of her husband, including receiving platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Tommy's death was described as 'sudden', and no official reason for his death has yet been revealed. The country musician passed away on August 5, 2026, and, in her note, Sandra concluded by saying she's thankful for having loved Tommy and for being loved by him.
Nothing in detail about Tommy and Sandra's love story is known; however, the couple had been married for more than 40 years. They also have a son, Thomas. In one of her interviews with Voyage San Anatnio, Sandra revealed that the early years of her marriage to Tommy were a bit difficult due to the imbalance in their respective careers.
In the interview, Tommy's wife stated that she was in business, and it often happens that when someone is indulged in this profession, they tend to lose sight of the important aspects of life. However, they worked on their marriage and solved their problems. Back in 2022, she said:
"My marriage suffered at the beginning but we weather the storm and my Husband, Tommy and I have now been married for 37 years. He is a professional musician and owns a recording studio so as you can imagine, both of our schedules are very different. Money has always been tight because we are both self-employed so that too can add stress. But I would not change a thing. Nothing worth having is easy and fighting to keep it whether is a family or a business it’s worth it if you can weather the storm."
Tommy Detamore's wife, Sandra, is a woman of many talents. In the interview, she revealed that from the beginning she was not that interested in school. Later, while in high school, she started working at McDonald's. She has been working since an early age and tried her hand at various roles during her school years, including band, varsity cheerleader, feature twirler, and even volleyball.
By her 20s, Sandra owned her own cafe, and 10 years later, she also became an owner of a gift shop. She was also involved in church work and shared her experience with others, teaching kids the art of telling stories through drama. She was known as the 'drama mama'.
