The Paradise is all set to release on September 24, 2026. According to reports, a special premiere and preview screenings will be held tomorrow on September 23, 2026. Now, if you are wondering what to expect in the action thriller, we’ve got you covered. In an interview with IANS, director Srikanth Odela shared that The Paradise is a revolutionary and emotional film. He added that the film will explore the story of a mother and son and also the struggles of a marginalised community.
Srikanth mentioned that the film follows people who fought for their country but later realised that they have no place in their own country. Soon, after this realisation, their struggle takes a different turn. Nani plays the role of the son named 'Jadal,' and Sonali Kulkarni plays the role of his mother, 'Sammakka'. In an interview with Mid-Day, Sonali shared that her character will ultimately make the audience feel angry and feel that it is unjust. In fact, at the same moment, they will also feel for her and cheer for her.
The story of The Paradise is set in 1980s erstwhile Hyderabad, where a nomadic community named Savari struggles for recognition and basic rights. The community in the film is loosely inspired by the real-life Shikari community, which moved from Rajasthan to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh around the time of Indian independence. This Shikari community lived a nomadic life and lacked certain social and political rights. Later, the community received OBC status, although it had demanded SC/ST status.
The name of the community has been changed in the film, while keeping the broader idea of a community's struggle for recognition. In an interview, Srikanth said that The Paradise starring Nani is not based on just one real incident. He shared:
"The film is based on several little real-life incidents which I witnessed while growing up. I have seen several incidents near my hometown. I have taken several incidents from Telangana and made them a part of the film."
Ahead of the theatrical release, critics have shared their reviews of Nani’s most anticipated film, The Paradise. A movie critic took to X and wrote that The Paradise has reportedly received very positive feedback from the censor screening. The review mentioned that the film will have strong action scenes and emotional moments throughout.
The critic shared that the first half reportedly includes an impressive jail fight, followed by a powerful interval sequence. According to the review, the second half is said to have more emotional scenes, an intense pre-climax, and a high-energy climax. The review especially lauded Nani’s performance, who would be seen in a different avatar this time.
The storytelling and background of The Paradise are another highlight of the film. The film reportedly has a runtime of around 2 hours and 49 minutes. Based on the early buzz, the critic called it a blockbuster. An excerpt of the review can be read as:
