Taylor Frankie Paul reportedly suffered two miscarriages before her domestic violence involving her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen started dating in 2022, and it was in 2024 that they welcomed their son, Ever. It was in January 2025 that the couple announced that Taylor and Dakota had parted ways. It was in 2023 when Taylor Frankie Paul was arrested for her fight with Dakota, when she threw a chair at him during a fight.

Not only did this impact both of them, but it also left a mark on her career. For the unversed, a video from this 2023 fight was obtained by TMZ, and following, ABC cancelled Frankie Paul's show, The Bachelorette. Amid this, on April 30, 2026, Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen appeared in court for their competing protective order filings and custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever.

Taylor Frankie Paul faces two miscarriages before the domestic violence incident

The ex-couple has been granted three years of mutual protective order. It was during the hearing that Taylor's lawyer revealed to the court that, while she and Dakota were going through the lows of their relationship, it was a really tough phase of their lives. As per the lawyer, during that time, only Taylor Frankie Paul faced two miscarriages. She also spoke about the allegations against Taylor of being an alcoholic, stating:

"This was a very difficult time in their relationship. They were going through some challenges, of course, compounded by the fact that my client was dealing with two recent miscarriages.”

Commissioner Russell Minas blasts Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen 

During the hearing on April 30, 2026, Commissioner Russell Minas blasts Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakotan Mortensen for the dynamic they have. He mentioned during the livestreamed hearing that Dakota and Taylor cannot stay with each other for a long time in the same place, or else it would turn violent. The commissioner also added that there had been violence on both sides. While blasting the couple, Minas added that the couple cannot only thrive on the drama and conflict that they have, but they actually need to figure out a way to be coparents, as clearly what they have is dysfunctional.

During the same hearing, the commissioner further mentioned that the situation the duo has between them can affect their child in the long run, even when he becomes an adult, and with the intent to keep Ever safe, he ordered to keep Taylor and Dakota away from each other. He mentioned that it would be the best for Ever, if his parents do 'not be in the same place at the same time.'

For the unversed, this ruling came after both the Draper City Police Department and the West Jordan Police Department opened the domestic violence cases involving Dakota Mortensen and Taylor Frankie Paul. It was during the investigation that Mortensen filed for a protective order against Paul, and she did the same against him a few weeks later. Mortensen was given custody of his son, Ever, with up to 8 visiting hours for Paul, supervised by a paid supervisor or someone vetted by the guardian ad litem. This was up until April 30, 2026, a hearing which recently took place.
