The gossip about Samantha Ruth Prabhu's pregnancy began during one of her events for her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, wherein her baby bump was noticeable. Well, as the excitement grows amid Samantha's fans, let's have a look back at the time, when reports claimed that the actress was planning to conceive, only three months before her marriage to her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, ended.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got married in 2017, and it was in 2021 that they announced their separation, shocking their fans. It was after their divorce announcement that producer, Neelima Guna talked to producer, Neelima Guna and revealed that Samantha was actually planning to be a mother in the same year.
According to Neelima, when she approached Samantha for the film's offer, she was excited, however, she gave a condition to sign the film, which was that the shooting must be wrapped by July/August 2025, as she wanted to become a mother. Neelima said:
"Last year itself, when my father director Gunasekhar garu and I approached Samantha for Shaakuntalam, she loved the story and was very excited by it, but she told us that if she were to accept the role, the shooting should be completed by maximum July/August this year. She informed me that she was planning to start a family and that she wants to become a mother and that it would be her priority."
In the same interview, Neelima Guna shared that while Samantha loved the script, she was a bit apprehensive as well, and the reason was that the periodic films generally take a lot of time to finalise. The producer also added that when she and the entire team assured Samantha that they would be able to complete the shooting within July/August of 2021, the actress was on board. According to Neelima, Samatha would go on a long break after the film to plan a family and have a baby. Neelima could be quoted as saying:
"As soon as she heard that, she was very happy and onboard this. She told me that this would be her last film and that after this, she wants to take a long break and have children, plan her family. Through the schedules also, we never took a break since we wanted to accommodate this request from her side."
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were once a much-loved couple, and they had an adorable bond. However, it was in 2021 that Samantha and Naga Chaitanya decided to end their marriage, for the reason best known to them. It was not an easy journey for either of them, and it took a lot from Samantha to move on. She took a short hiatus and went on a healing journey.
