Prateek Yadav was the younger son of the late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was also the husband of BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission Vice-Chairperson, Aparna Yadav. It was on May 13, 2026, that the 38-year-old Prateek passed away, reportedly due to a sudden cardiac arrest. He was taken to Lucknow's Civil Hospital around 5:55 a.m. after his health deteriorated. Prateek was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Reports floating on the social media reveal that Prateek apart from brand endorsements and promotions had a net worth reportedly around Rs. 5.5 to Rs. 7 crore and had an annual income of around Rs. 1.5 crore. There are reports that reveal that Aparna had said that Prateek's assets were around Rs. 23 crore.
However , a report by Forbes India mentioned that Prateek's net worth came mainly from his real estate business. His property portfolio showcased that he had around Rs. 6 to Rs. 7 crore assets. Reports reveal that he has many high-end cars that also include a Lamborghini, which is valued at Rs. 5 crore, and often Prateek has been seen driving it himself. Prateek also has had vehicles such as the Range Rover and Toyota Fortuner.
