Palaash Mucchal took a legal stance against Vidnyan Mane's bombshell allegations against him. Read to know his full statement.
Cricketer, Smriti Mandhana's ex-fiancé, Palaash Muchhal, has been dominating the headlines ever since their wedding was cancelled. The ex-couple, who were set to start their married life on November 23, 2025, are now as good as strangers. Amid their marriage call-off, Palaash found himself under intense online scrutiny, with multiple women accusing him of hitting on them while being in a relationship with Smriti. Recently, Smriti's friend, Vidnyan Mane, suggested that Palaash was caught cheating on the cricketer by her teammates. The music composer hit back with a clarification statement and a defamation suit.
On January 23, 2026, Marathi actor-producer, Vidnyan Mane made serious public allegations of financial fraud and infidelity against music composer, Palaash Muchhal, as reported by Hindustan Times. Vidnyan, who claims to be a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana, alleged that Palaash was caught "red-handed" with another woman in bed during wedding-related celebrations on November 23, 2025. He further claimed that following this discovery, the Indian composer was confronted and "beaten up" by members of the Indian women's national cricket team.
Besides the cheating allegations, Vidnyan Mane also claimed that Palaash Mucchal cheated him out of over Rs. 40 lakh related to an investment in an unreleased film titled Nazaria. Vidnyan alleged that he was promised acting roles and profits but was eventually blocked by Palaash when he asked for a refund. Recalling the incidents of alleged financial fraud and cheating with another woman, Smriti Mandhana's friend, Vidnyan, stated:
"I was at the wedding celebrations (November, 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he'd get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me."
A day after Vidnyan Mane's bombshell allegations against Palaash made headlines, the latter issued a Rs. 10 crore notice through his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, asserting that Vidnyan's claims were intended to "malign my reputation and character." Palaash took to his Instagram Stories on January 24, 2026 to share his legal stance regarding the accusations of cheating on Smirti Mandhana and financial fraud with Vidnyan, deeming them as "false, outrageous and highly defamatory." Palaash Mucchal wrote:
"A legal notice for defamation of Rs. 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli Based vidnyan mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character."
Palaash's lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare questioned the credibility of the financial claims, noting there is no evidence, such as bank transfers or cheques, to prove the alleged Rs. 40 lakh payment. The inquisition from Palaash's side was why Vidnyan Mane waited until after Palaash's wedding with cricketer, Smriti Mandhana was called off to bring the allegations to light. Palaash's lawyer clarified that they don't know Vidnyan personally and were only introduced to him through Smriti's father. Palaash also described the claims as "entirely baseless and factually incorrect." Shreyansh stated:
"He (Vidnyan) claims he has paid us money, but there is no evidence whether he paid by cheque or bank transfer. All the allegations about Palaash being caught with another woman — what is the evidence? We don't know this guy; we met him through Smriti's father [Shrinivas]. We have no direct connection with him. Why did he keep quiet so long? It's only after the marriage broke that he [Vidnyan] has turned up. Palaash is exploring his legal options."
