During their marriage, they welcomed their daughter, Jizah.
Love blossomed between the two soon after they met while working on the film, Shubha Mangal Saavadhan. Adinath’s father, Mahesh, was looking for a new face for the film, and that is why Urmila had gone to their home. Speaking about their love story, Adinath once said, "As soon as I woke up, I saw Urmila in front of me, and I fell in love with her instantly." In another interview, Adinath could not stop praising Urmila. He said:
"Urmila is great as an actress, but I like her more as a wife. We have fights like normal people, but it always turns out well. Basically, Urmila is very honest. I really appreciate her honesty as a partner."
A while back, the former pair, Adinath and Urmila, took to their Instagram to share a note announcing their separation. In the note, they mentioned that they are parting ways as partners but will continue to co-parent their daughter, Jizah. An excerpt of the note can be read as:
"To our friends, media, and well-wishers, after much thought and consideration, Urmilla Kanetkar and I, Adinath M. Kothare, have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as partners. While our journey as a couple has ended, our commitment to our daughter, Jizah, remains absolute. She is our utmost priority. We are happily and dedicatedly co-parenting her to ensure she grows up surrounded by love, security, and support. We hold the deepest mutual respect for one another and the years we shared."
It is worth mentioning that this was not the first time that Adinath and Urmila had grabbed attention for their divorce. Earlier, in 2025, the couple sparked trouble in marital paradise rumours. At the time, Urmila said in an interview that some facts on social media were true and some were false. Explaining it further, Urmila said:
"I don't think about what is said on social media. Those discussions are toxic. Some things are true, some are false... but I don't let it affect me. I am so busy with my work that I don't feel the need to see who is saying what... The things that reach the audience are not always true. That is why people should not label everything they see on social media as true."
