From 'Parathas' to 'Dosa', heres a look at Meesho's co-founder, Vidit Aatrey, and his wife, Minu Margaret's love story, which is almost a replica of the much-loved Bollywood movie, '2 States'.
Meesho is one of India’s fastest-growing e-commerce platforms, with approximately 198-234 million transacting users annually. In FY25, Meesho processed approximately 1.8-1.83 billion orders. Not only this, its gross merchandise value (GMV) run rate is estimated at around USD 6.2 billion. Meesho’s revenue grew to Rs. 9,390 crore, and its valuation reached Rs. 789 billion in December 2025. The e-commerce platform also became cash flow positive and began shifting from heavy losses to a sustainable growth trajectory.
On December 10, 2025, Meesho made headlines after its stock market debut. The company’s shares opened around Rs. 162.50, about 46 per cent higher than the IPO issue price of Rs. 111. The IPO raised around Rs. 5,421.20 crore, with Rs. 4,250 crore from fresh shares and roughly Rs. 1,171 crore from OFS (offer-for-sale) by existing investors. Meesho’s IPO was subscribed over 79 times overall, with institutional bids exceeding the allocation by more than 120 times.
Meesho’s co-founders, Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, are reportedly expanding their company’s tech backbone by investing heavily in cloud infrastructure, AI upgrades, marketing, logistics scaling, and expanding their consumer and seller base nationwide. Meesho was founded in December 2015, and after one decade, the e-commerce firm reached a valuation of Rs. 789.3 billion. According to multiple industry experts, Meesho’s rise from a hyperlocal shopping concept, FASHNEAR, to a recognised national e-commerce platform speaks volumes about the business acumen of its co-founders, Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal.
Regarding the "face of the company," Vidit Aatrey serves as CEO. Before co-founding Meesho with Sanjeev Barnwal, he worked at ITC Limited, InMobi, and several other renowned companies. He earned a B.Tech in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi in 2012. During his time at InMobi and ITC, he realised that many small sellers want to do business but lack proper infrastructure. As a result, decided to build a hyperlocal shopping platform, FASHNEAR, which later became Meesho. Despite being one of India’s most famous names in the startup domain, Vidit prefers to keep his personal life private.
Meesho’s co-founder and CEO, Vidit Aatrey, is married to renowned businesswoman, Minu Margeret, and they're parents to a adorable baby girl. Although the couple’s exact wedding date isn’t publicly known, they’re referred to as the “Power Couple” of the startup ecosystem. Time and again, in their interviews, we have heard them credit each other with supporting them in building their respective businesses. While Aatrey built Meesho, Margeret is the founder of the activewear brand, BlissClub. Unlike her husband, Margeret jumped into entrepreneurship due to personal frustration.
For the uninitiated, Minu Margeret is a former national-level ultimate Frisbee athlete and is a hardcore fitness enthusiast. However, she couldn’t find activewear that actually fit Indian women. Most options on the market were either overpriced or uncomfortable; as a result, she decided to build a brand that provides only comfortable activewear tailored to the needs of Indian women. For FY 2024, BlissClub reported revenue of about Rs. 92-93 crore and raised fresh funding of Rs. 33 crore from investors.
According to multiple reports, Vidit Aatrey and Minu Margeret first met at IIT-Delhi and quickly became best friends. Over time, they fell in love and began dating despite their different cultures. While Aatrey is a North Indian guy who hails from Delhi, Margeret comes from Kerala and is influenced by Malayali traditions, but they still fell in love.
The couple’s love story looks similar to the one we saw in the movie, 2 States, based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. However, according to multiple sources, Vidit Aatrey and Minu Margeret reportedly had little difficulty convincing their parents of their relationship. The couple continues to inspire everyone with their individual success and is still each other’s biggest cheerleaders.
