Well, the announcement video of the show, starring Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh has been making rounds on social media since the past few days, sparking curiosity about its contestants. Even though the list of contestants have not been revealed by the makers, multiple reports suggest that Pranit More might be a part of it. For those who missed the announcement reel of Lock Upp Season 2, featuring Farah Khan and Housefull actor, Riteish Deshmukh in a fierce avatar, the reality show is all set to premiere on June 27, 2026. Viewers can watch new episodes from Saturday to Wednesday, at 8pm, on the OTT giant, Netflix. It is worth mentioning that stand-up comedian, Munawar Faruqui is the winner of Lock Upp Season 1. Reportedly, Farah Khan will host the show.
Even though the official list of contestants has not been revealed, there are multiple speculations grabbing attention on social media. If a recent report by Filmibeat is to be believed, then Hina Khan, Shilpa Shinde and Pranit More might join the reality show as contestants. For the unversed, Pranit is currently dominating the headlines for Rs. 370 Biryani controversy. Apart from him, Hina Khan and Shilpa Shende, recently got into a verbal argument on social media. It is worth noting that neither BollywoodShaadis nor the author can verify these claims.
Another report by The Sunday Guardian gave a tentative list of 11 celebrities that have high chances of appearing on the show. According to the same, Rakhi Sawant, Bigg Boss 15 fame, Pratik Sehajpal, The Traitors winner, Uorfi Javed and The 50 winner, Shiv Thakre are expected to join the show. Other contestants include Sherlyn Chopra, Emiway Bantai, Archana Gautam, Anmol Chaudhary, Priyank Sharma, Akash Dadlani and Pooja Mishra. However, fans will have to wait to know the confirmed contestants of Ektaa Kapoor’s reality show, Lock Upp Season 2.
Recently, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, who are expected to host the upcoming reality show, sat down for an interview, during which they opened up about Lock Upp Season 2. Riteish explained the show is a reflection of the real-life, that can be fun and fascinating. He was quoted as saying:
"What makes Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa engaging is that it’s a reflection of the times we live in, and that can be both fun and fascinating. Every contestant enters with their truth and a strategy, but inside Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, everything gets tested. Farah and I will have a front-row seat to every twist, conflict, and revelation. One thing is certain: nobody walks out the same."
On the other hand, Farah Khan also explained that even though she has seen a lot in her career, Lock Upp is a different experience. Talking about the contestants, the much-loved director revealed that celebrities will try to show their true colours in the show. She concluded by stating that Lock Upp Season 2 will have a lot of unseen drama. In her words:
"Across my career, I’ve seen a lot, but Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa is a different beast. No filters, no retakes, just famous people attempting to reveal their true selves, under real pressure. That’s where the asli entertainment begins. Riteish and I have very different styles, which makes this chaos even more fun. If you think you’ve seen drama before, think again… Netflix has ensured this is drama ka bhi baap."
