The brutal incident took place back in 2023, and it was not made public till January 2026. No sooner did the incident become public knowledge than it sparked a massive public outrage.
For the unversed, the 35-year-old nurse strangled her three children to death, and the incident took place in her family home. She has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty in the deaths of her children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.
At an ongoing triple-murder trial in Massachusetts, jurors have recently heard the emergency 911 call made by Patrick Lindsay on the day of the horrific incident. As Patrick testified, Lindsay's defense team has argued that she was overmedicated and was having a mental breakdown while suffering from extreme postpartum psychosis. On the other hand, prosecutors alleged that she had the idea about what she was doing and she had a 'calculated plan' to kill her three children.
On day 2 of the trial, Patrick revealed that he was asked by Lindsay to pick up food and stop by a pharmacy shop for medicine. Patrick called Lindsay from the shop, and he shared that she was 'pretty quiet' on the call, and he thought that she was in the middle of bathing their children. When Patrick reached home, there was a deafening silence there, and following this, he found that the bedroom was filled with blood and was initially locked. It was then that Patrick understood that something was wrong.
He found Lindsay in the yard with a round mark on her neck and several serious cuts on her wrist. According to Patrick, she tried to take her own life by jumping from the second-story window and was paralyzed from the waist down when he found her. Patrick shared that Lindsay told him that their kids were in the basement, without mentioning anything about her killing the little ones.
In the chilling 911 call, Patrick told the dispatcher that her wife tried to kill herself, whom he kept from becoming unconscious. He was heard asking her about the kids before moving into the basement. In the 6-minute 911 audio, Patrick could be heard saying:
"Lindsay, what did you do? Where are the kids, Lindsay? I've got to go check on my kids. I need help in the basement right now ... She killed the kids."
According to Patrick, three of his kids were strangled to death, and when he found them, they had a fitness band wrapped around their necks. Patrick practiced CPR, but it was too late. Prosecutors have submitted the evidence in court, while Patrick said that roughly a week before the incident, Lindsay told him that she had heard a 'man's voice' directing her to kill her three children.
Patrick hadn't heard about psychosis before. Patrick said that Lindsay was a very dedicated mom, who would read to her kids, make up songs, and even bring her kids to music classes. However, she dealt with chronic insomnia, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety, and her health deteriorated in the months leading up to the tragic incident. He could be quoted as saying:
"She was very dedicated. She did everything. She said she heard a man's voice telling her if she didn't do it now she would lose her chance, or something like that. I didn't know what psychosis was until after this happened."
Lindsay broke down in tears, hearing the 911 audio in the court. According to the reports, the prosecutors will be calling additional witnesses to testify. Speaking of Patrick, he was previously reported to have forgiven Lindsay. He divorced her and married Dr. Rachel Danis. While it's not known when he divorced Lindsay, it's said to be sometime during the three-year time frame between 2023 and 2026.
