Corie Walsh's former friend is absolutely shocked by the incident

For those who don't know, Lindsay Clancy's murder trial stemmed from a horrific incident that took place in 2023. Lindsay was charged with the murder of her three kids; however, she pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis, and her defense team had argued that she should not be held criminally responsible for the murders of her three babies, while the prosecutors maintained that it was planned.

After a long trial, the jury could not reach a verdict, leading the court to declare a mistrial. However, during the length of the trial, a horrifying case left everyone shocked. As it turns out, a mother named Corie Walsh had taken inspiration from Lindsay and killed her 2-year-old son. Now, her former high school friend says she's struggling to reconcile the woman she knew as a teenager with the woman who is facing the disturbing allegations.

The woman revealed that back in school, Corie Walsh was involved in the school's poms team, Helping Hands club, senior Powderpuff games, and liturgy through Mass. She added that Walsh seemed to know everyone and was friendly with people from all different groups. The former friend revealed that given Walsh's history, the news of her allegedly killing her son comes as a complete shock. She reflected on the disturbing accusations; she said she was completely shocked, saying, "Never in a million years could I have imagined something so tragic."

In the same conversation, Corie Walsh's former friend revealed that one detail in particular that she found hard to reconcile with the person she knew was the allegation that Walsh told investigators she believed her son was the "devil" and "anti-Christ." When asked whether she remembered that kind of religious thinking in Walsh, the former friend denied it, saying, "Not at all." She went on to explain that while they grew up Catholics and attended Mass, that was largely because they went to Catholic school. She stated:

The friend added that Corie Walsh was active in religious activities at school, but said she would never have described her as someone consumed by religion or fearful of God. Similar to Lindsay Clancy's case, Walsh's defense team has also argued that she was experiencing a psychotic episode when her son died. Meanwhile, the prosecutors have alleged that Walsh was heavily invested in the Lindsay Clancy case and was discussing it with friends just hours before her son Barrett was found dead.

While netizens have connected the dots between the two cases, authorities have not established that the Lindsay Clancy case caused or directly influenced what happened. The former friend says she hasn't spoken with Corie Walsh since high school and doesn't want to speculate about the person she became. She added that her heart breaks for everyone affected by it, and "most especially for the loss of an innocent little boy."
