The plane crash on November 1, 2026, resulted in the death of all nine people aboard, and one of them was Ana Maria Ramirez Cetina, the nanny for the Robinson family. And now, her sister, Angie, has revealed that she spoke to her sister minutes before the plane took off.
The beloved nanny who died in the harrowing Learjet 60 crash made a gut-wrenching final call to her sister minutes before the doomed flight took off for the Bahamas. Ana Maria Ramirez Cetina, who went by Anita, worked as the nanny for the Robinson family and was on the ill-fated flight. According to The U.S. Sun, her sister, Angie, revealed that she spoke to the late nanny on the morning of November 1, 2026.
Angie said Anita was extremely excited about her trip to the Bahamas. She revealed that her sister showed her the plane on a video call. For those who are unaware, Anita had moved to the US two years prior to the crash and was building her new life in the States. She was quoted as saying:
"We did a video call; she showed me the children, she showed me the plane. She was very happy. She was truly happy because she had never been to the Bahamas, and even though she was working, she didn't see it as work. She enjoyed it."
For those unfamiliar with the crash, the Learjet 60 was carrying Texas tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen, their two young children, their nanny, and two friends, along with pilot Jeff Gregory and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. Anita, a biomedical engineer, was traveling with the Robinson family to celebrate Adam's birthday.
Angie said every time she spoke to her sister, she spoke so graciously of the Robinson family and expressed her love for their two children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2. She also recalled seeing the crash video on social media and said that the minute she came across the clip, she checked the flight's path. She revealed that it was only when her mother called to confirm the news that she actually believed that her sister was truly gone and said:
"I saw the accident, I saw the flight path, and truthfully, I didn't want to accept that it might be my sister on the plane. But later, my mom called me on Monday morning and confirmed to me that yes, it was the flight Ana Maria was on."
In the same conversation, Angie said she was extremely close to her sister and had last seen her only a few months ago, when she gave birth to her son. Angie said her family has been left completely shattered since the tragedy. She was quoted as saying:
"My sister and I shared so many things together. We have so many memories. Something that will stay with me forever was that she was there through my whole journey with my son, from the beginning until the day I had him; through my postpartum recovery, she was right there. She adored my son. He was practically the apple of her eye. She and I were inseparable."
According to reports, the plane flying from Austin to the Bahamas on November 1, 2026, faced extreme weather moments before the co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras made the distress mayday call to the Federal Aviation Administration's air traffic control in Miami. In the audio that has since gone viral, she was heard frantically saying, "722BD, we're descending 8,000 – mayday, mayday, we're descending 10,000 feet per minute."
Nathalia was then heard screaming and saying, "We're going to crash into the ground. We are descending 22,000 feet, and we are banking 60 degrees." While she desperately tried to plead for help, Captain Jeff Gregory is heard reciting the Lord's Prayer in the background. "Holy f**k, we're out of time," Filgueiras said before the audio from the Learjet went silent.
