In a shocking incident, famous singer, Kanika Kapoor was manhandled by a fan who came on stage and touched her inappropriately.
Bollywood singer, Kanika Kapoor, faced the most shocking incident of her life. After a fan breached security and went up on stage to grope her. The incident has left the internet in disgust as an unidentified man rushed onto the stage and touched the singer inappropriately during her mid-performance.
In a viral video, Kanika Kapoor was performing her song during her Meghalaya concert. Soon, a man climbed up on stage, grabbed her, and tried to lift her. Kanika looked visibly shocked and terrified. Despite the sudden assault, Kanika maintained her composure and kept singing, paying no heed to the man. However, it took a while for her to process the situation. The incident happened at the MeGong Festival on December 7, 2025.
Kanika's security team soon rushed on stage and held the man in question. They forcefully escorted the intruder away from Kanika and out of the public's eyes. However, the audience kept applauding for Kanika as she maintained her calm, which wasn't easy for anyone. It raises a lot of questions about the safety of the star in the first place. So far, no official confirmation of whether a police complaint has been filed.
A while ago, Kanika Kapoor made headlines for talking about financial injustices she faced as a playback singer. In an interview with Uorfi Javed, the Baby Doll singer shared that artists like her are often paid shockingly low pay cheques for their viral work. She was quoted as saying:
"Singers don’t really get paid. I can show you all the contracts — we get Rs. 101."
Kanika also revealed that a singer's survival depends mostly on live performances. She stated that as long as the voice works and can perform, they will get good money. However, if something happens to them, there is no pension plan for singers.
For the unversed, Kanika Kapoor rose to fame with her unmissable musical score, Jugni Ji in 2013. And thereafter, there has been no looking back for the singer, as she has managed to deliver back-to-back hit songs, both in films as well as her music videos. Her life thereafter, took a completely beautiful turn post her marriage to long-time beau and businessman, Gautam Hathiramani. Not many know that it was the second beginning for Kanika.
The singer was earlier married to an NRI businessman, Raj Chandok back in 1998, and was later divorced in the year, 2012. Kanika has enjoyed each moment of her second chance at love to the fullest. In an interview with Bombay Times, Kanika talked about her first marriage and revealed that one incident spoilt the idea of marriage to her. She stated:
“I am someone who hails from Lucknow. I have been brought up in a very big joint family. I grew around my great grandparents, grandparents, my uncles and aunts and even my parents, who have lived a happy married life throughout. I have always believed in the institution of marriage and I understand that sometimes you can be in a marriage with a partner who doesn’t understand you and vice versa. And it is not anybody’s fault. I think it is very important to be graceful and move on."
