Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh was the first person to break the news through his Twitter handle that Ajay Devgn’s father and veteran director, Veeru Devgn is no more. The official statement pertaining to Veeru Devgn’s death could be read as, “With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform that Mr.Veeru Devgan, veteran action master and father of actor Ajay Devgn passed away this morning. The funeral was held at Vile Parle West Crematorium at 6:00 pm on 27th May 2019."
As the entire clan was bearing this huge loss, another bad news came to them. If the reports are to be believed, Kajol’s mom and veteran actress, Tanuja was not keeping well and Kajol was papped outside the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Talking about Tanuja’s health, a source had shared with a portal, “Yes. Tanuja is unwell. She has been admitted to a hospital. She is better now and should return home in the next 2 - 3 days."
Now, the latest reports regarding Tanuja’s health states that she has undergone an operation for diverticulitis and currently, the actress is coping up with the same. As per a Hindustan Times report, someone close to the family has reported, “Veteran Bollywood actor Tanuja has undergone an operation for diverticulitis and is doing fine." Also, an insider told the PTI that she would remain hospitalised for “at least a week”. For the ones who don't know, Diverticulitis is a condition which results in the inflammation or infection of small pouches called diverticula that develop along the walls of the intestines. Talking to the UNI, Kajol had once shared, “'My mother is the complete opposite of Eela. The kind of upbringing she gave me is something I will treasure. I think I am lucky to be born to her. I could not have chosen a better mother. Because she was extremely brave bringing me up.” She had further gone on to add, “The kind of things she taught me as a kid, I used to get frustrated at that time but now I realise when I have grown up that telling those things when I was younger, I was able to put it into practice when I became an adult. I don't have to read self-help books. Like she used to tell me that 'anger is not going to win' and I used to get pissed off and shout on her. She told me 'act, don't react'. In another media interaction, she had revealed what she has learnt from her mother, Tanuja, “One important thing that I have learnt is that women cannot be empowered by anybody else but themselves. When we talk about women empowerment, we tell women to speak out. If you believe in yourself, that is the biggest empowerment. If I go to work, hopefully, my son grow up to realise that women are like this and they are capable of this and that is normal.”
She had further added, “Every mother should teach her son to expect better from the women around him and that's how women's empowerment will happen. As mothers, we have the power to change the world because we are taking care of the next generation. We have the power to change their thinking by not taking crap and standing up for ourselves.
