Joni Lamb's deceased husband, Marcus Lamb's Will surfaced, where he clearly named a successor for her position after she passes away.
Joni Lamb, the co-founder and president of the Daystar Television Network, died on May 7, 2026. She was 65 at the time of her death. Joni faced serious medical issues, which rapidly deteriorated after a recent back injury heightened her health challenges. However, even amid such a dire condition, she was able to spend her last moments before death at her home in Bedford, Texas, amid her loved ones. Joni's untimely demise sparked public curiosity around her successor. The talks have been fuelled by her son, Jonathan, and her daughter-in-law, Suzy Lamb's, estrangement from her.
Joni Lamb chucked out the plan for Daystar Television Network's smooth functioning in her absence. She established a formal continuity plan before her sudden passing on May 7, 2026. In the company's official statement confirming her death, they said Joni had collaborated with the board of directors to put a succession plan and an executive leadership team in place. The company's statement could be read as:
"Previously, (Joni Lamb) worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place so that the ministry would continue uninterrupted...We will keep broadcasting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, alongside you."
However, the successor to Joni Lamb's position, i.e., the one who will replace her as the company's owner, is what the public is waiting to learn. Amid speculation that Joni and her first husband, Marcus Lamb, and his only son, Jonathan, were being denied their right to their late father's will, it surfaced. Marcus' will clearly stated that if he dies before Joni, then she is to replace him, and after her passing, Jonathan will take over the position. The legal document, which contains Marcus' signature, could be read as:
"Since I am older than Joni, and since women historically live longer than men, I will probably go to Heaven before Joni...So if I precede Joni in death, then my directive is that Joni will replace me as the head of Daystar. I further direct that if Joni passes, or retires, then Jonathan Lamb will become the head of Daystar. I make this directive as the Fourder, President, and CEO of Word Of God Fellowship, Inc. and the Daystar Television Network."
Besides Daystar's successorship, interest has also been sparked in Joni Lamb's personal asset division. Loni's second husband, Douglas Weiss and her three children, Jonathan Lamb, Rebecca Lamb, and Rachel Lamb Brown, are her surviving family members. However, Jonathan and his wife, Suzy have been estranged from her for a long time. Loni even cut her son off from the family business by firing him from Daystar. The long-term estrangement points to the possibility of a will that might not be favourable to them. Notably, specific details regarding the division of her personal estate, estimated at around USD 40 million, remain private.
The estrangement between Joni Lamb and her son, Jonathan Lamb, alongside his wife, Suzy Lamb, stemmed from the couple's allegations of a child sexual abuse cover-up against her. According to the duo, Joni didn't take appropriate steps regarding the alleged sexual abuse of their young daughter by a male family member of the Lambs and instead sided with the man to protect the family's reputation. Jonathan claimed he was demoted and eventually fired because he refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would prevent him from speaking out about the abuse.
