The late James Ransone was known for his character as 'Ziggy Sobotka' in The Wire. It was on December 19, 2025, when the actor died by su**ide at the age of 46 in Los Angeles. The cause of James' death, as reported by the Los Angeles County medical examiner, was due to hanging at a shed as per the official records. The Los Angeles police department officials ruled out foul play. Now, James' wife and widow, Jamie McPhee, has penned a heart-wrenching note in memory of her husband. James has left behind, Jamie and his two kids- Jack and Violet.

A while ago, James Ransone's wife, Jamie McPhee, took to her Instagram handle to pen an emotional note for her late husband. Jamie had shared a throwback snap from her pregnancy. In the heartbreaking picture, James was seen cradling Jamie's baby bump. She had worn a black tee paired with a blue-hued jacket featuring a floral design. On the other hand, James had donned a grey-hued jacket with a spiritual design, along with a beanie cap. Jamie was seen reflecting on her bond and the family she had built with James, and in her heart-wrenching caption, she wrote:

"I told you I have loved you 1000 times before, and I know I will love you again. You told me—I need to be more like you, and you need to be more like me—and you were so right. Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts—you, Jack and Violet. We are forever."

James Ransone, apart from his performance in The Wire, was known for his work in Sinister and It Chapter Two.
