Hayden Panettiere's celebration of life ceremony was attended by nearly 150 guests

Hayden Panettiere's special celebration of life ceremony was held on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The memorial was “emotional and beautiful” and was attended by some of her closest friends in Hollywood. This included Paris Hilton, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Connie Britton, and Lennon Stella. According to sources for TMZ, they were among the nearly 150 guests who were present at the court memorial in Malibu, California, to honor Hayden.

During the memorial, Britton and Esten gave speeches in tribute to the late actress. Later, Esten even went on to sing one of Hayden's songs from their hit TV series Nashville. They had a band set up at the church to help him with his performance. The sources added that guests first watched doves being released outside the church before they headed inside for the ceremony.

Hayden Panettiere's mom and boyfriend were not invited to the actress’ memorial

As per reports, Hayden Panettiere's mother, Lesley Vogel, and her on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, were not among the 150 people who attended her memorial. Hayden’s mom and dad, Skip, who attended the memorial, got divorced back in 2016. And in the final years of her life, Hayden and Lesley reportedly shared a rather turbulent relationship and did not see eye-to-eye. Some insiders stated that their bond might have soured due to Hayden's relationship with Brian.

It is worth mentioning that Lesley had admitted in front of the media that she thought he was a bad influence on her, and called him out after the actress passed away. Initially, sources revealed that the reason neither Lesley nor Brian got an invite to Hayden's memorial is because they wished to have a peaceful event. They also did not want her personal conflicts to interfere with the event.

After the memorial, however, a source close to Lesley Vogel denied that she was not invited to her daughter’s memorial. Instead, they claimed that the reason Lesley was not seen at the event was due to a family emergency. As for Brian Hickerson, sources told TMZ that he wasn't upset about getting snubbed from Hayden Panettiere's memorial. The same was true for his brother, Zach, who was also present at the apartment where the actress died.

As per the insider, the Hickerson siblings know it's a sensitive time and understand why they were not invited. Brian and his brother, Zach, reportedly hoped for a beautiful celebration of life and legacy for Hayden.

Regarding the brothers' current condition, both of them are reported to be in shock. The source shared that Brian Hickerson was still not able to process the grief of losing his girlfriend and move past the difficult time.

A few days before Hayden’s memorial, a photographer caught Brian outside a gas station in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 16, 2026. During their brief interaction, Brian appeared completely unwilling to discuss anything related to Hayden's death.

When he was questioned about how he was dealing with the loss of the Nashville actress, Brian questioned the photographer in return, “How do you think I am doing?” This prompted the photographer to offer his condolences, to which Brian responded, “Appreciate it. That's all I got for you, man.”
