Govinda is a well-known Bollywood star. Recently, he has been the focus of headlines amid the buzz around his marriage, and now it has been revealed that the actor has been receiving threat calls.
Govinda is one of the most-loved actors from the 90s. He has appeared in 150+ films and is known for his satirical performances and dance skills. He was the leading actor throughout the 1990s and was last seen in Sikander Bharti's 2019 comedy-drama, Rangeela Raja. However, lately he has been hogging the headlines for his personal life, from health scares to divorce rumours, and now his manager has alleged that the actor has received multiple threat calls.
Govinda seems to be having a rough few months, from health scares in late November 2025 to the ever-lasting buzz around his marriage, the actor can't seem to catch a break. And now, his manager Shashi Sinha has alleged that the actor has been receiving a few death threats lately. He recalled a recent episode when the actor was on the verge of being attacked at his own residence by unidentified assailants.
In a candid conversation with ANI, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, shared how the actor was attacked at 4 a.m., but he managed to get away because he had a gun and his phone with him. Sashi also shared that they have filed an FIR regarding the matter. He was quoted as saying:
"He keeps getting threat calls. Thank god he had a gun with him the day he got attacked. He chased everyone away. Otherwise god knows what would’ve happened to him. I rushed to him at 4 am. We also filed an FIR. We also have a video of what happened that night."
While Shashi Sinha didn't share the details of when the incident took place, he mentioned that Govinda also got hurt during the attack. He revealed that the actor was hurt in an act of self-defence, which immediately took the fans back to the time when Govinda accidentally shot himself. Back in October 2024, Govinda was hospitalised after he allegedly shot himself in the foot while cleaning his gun. He sustained leg injuries after his weapon accidentally went off at his Mumbai residence, while he was about to leave for the airport, the police had said.
At the time, Govinda's manager, Shashi, shared that the actor was about to leave his home in Mumbai at around 4:45 am for the airport to catch a 6 am flight to Kolkata for a show. He revealed that the trigger of his licensed revolver was accidentally pushed as he was keeping it in the cupboard. The gun misfired, and a bullet hit his leg. The police later also stated that no one had lodged any complaint in this matter.
Dr Ramesh Agarwal, the doctor who treated Govinda, shared details about the extent of the actor's injury. The doctor also confirmed that the Ek Aur Ek Gyaraah star had received 8 to 10 stitches. Even Govinda himself had shared a statement confirming that he was okay. He claimed that the doctors at Criticare Hospital managed to remove the bullet from the wound. He hosted a press conference right after he was cleared to leave the hospital and shared that he could not believe what had happened. He was quoted as saying:
"Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened. Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua?"
