During the first episode of Lock Upp 2, Akanksha made a shocking revelation, saying that they have been living separately for more than a year. Akanksha also shared that she does not want to fall in love at the moment.
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna got married back on November 24, 2016. Both of them have remained on good terms. After the reality show ended, Akanksha sat down for an interview with Zoom and said she does not want to focus on love at the moment. Akanksha shared that she does not want to be distracted by love amid her divorce with Gaurav and stated:
"So I don't want to concentrate on love anymore. Not that I am looking at. But right now, I am focusing more on my work because it is very difficult for any female to come out of a relationship which has been this long."
Akanksha further shared that she has spent a lot of her youth and her time in the industry and stated, "Woh ek peak time hota hai na, when at least in this industry jaha pe females ko ek age bracket mein daalte ho ki iss age bracket mein sabse best hoti hai females. I think I have lost out on that."
Akanksha Chamola further shared that it is very tough for a woman to create her own base and also stand on her own feet. She shared that after someone comes out of a long relationship, Akanksha does not believe in going back to her parents. Chamola wants to support herself and so does not want to be distracted by love at the moment.
Gaurav Khanna's wife, Akanksha's Lock Upp 2 journey was filled with a lot of lows and highs. It was like a full-on roller coaster ride. She had also spoken about her sexuality after Shreya Kalra accused her of being bisexual. This was before Akanksha was married to Gaurav. There were conversations about her third secret not being discussed on the reality show. There were speculations that she was pregnant.
Earlier, Akanksha was seen in a web show titled Dil Dhokha Aur Desire, alongside Charlie Chauhan's ex-boyfriend, Kunwar Amar. The show was seen on ShemarooMe on February 12, 2026. Akanksha was seen in shows such as Swaragini, Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, Can You See Me and many more.
Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Akanksha stated that Gaurav was always aware of her sexuality before her marriage. Akanksha had confessed to having relationships with women before Gaurav came in her life and mentioned:
"I have very specifically mentioned that I was bisexual before I got married. My husband accepted that because he did find it to be a very hot thing. Guys find it very hot. I don't know why people can't accept that. The majority of men find it to be very hot."
Chamola further stated that she did not pull herself out but decided to not cheat on her husband, Gaurav. She had chosen to be with this one person and decided to stick to that one person. In her words:
"And then after that, when I'm saying that I've reached a point where I'm asexual, there are many heterosexual females who turn asexual after a point in time. So what is a big deal when I'm saying that I was bisexual, then I got married, now I'm asexual?"
