New England Patriots' quarterback, Drake Maye, tied the knot with Ann Michael on June 21 2025.
The New England Patriots are all set to face the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LA on February 8, 2026. But amid the big day, the focus is not solely on game plan, formulations or matchups, but on something more personal. Before the days leading up to the final match, the Patriots had become lighter and more tempting, which started with the quarterback, Drake Maye's wife, Ann Michael.
New England Patriots backup quarterback, Tommy De Vito recently sat down with People ahead of their big day and opened up about how Ann's now-famous baked goods have become a small but "strategic" part of team life as they head into the biggest game of the season. According to DeVito, Ann regularly sends Drake to the facility with boxes of handmade cookies, breads and boxes of homemade amusing treats, which rarely make their way to the quarterback's room. Sharing how all the team members enjoy it, he said:
"She'll always send Drake into the building with stuff. So when we're in the O-line room, we'll dabble a little bit."
Tommy explained that quarterbacks try to keep their meals cleaner, while competent offensive linemen get a little more flexibility. Whether it's chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with sea salt or banana bread and other baked goods, Anna's preparations have become something players look forward to between meetings and practice sessions, giving the team another tasty reason to bond. In his words:
"We truly believe that we are going to go in and win every game, and to see how the team stuck together was important. I think we're peaking at the right time."
Ann Michael and Drake Maye's story goes back more than a decade. The duo began dating in high school at the age of 12 years old. Later, they attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill together before Drake entered the NFL in 2024. They eventually tied the knot on June 21, 2025, during the offseason, and Ann quickly became a visible presence at games. She has become a fan favourite, often going viral for her custom gameday outfits and enthusiastic support from the stands.
Ann Michael graduated from UNC in May 2025 with a degree in Business Administration (Finance). Although she began baking as a hobby in her kitchen, she has now grown into a media presence, brand identity and a connection point between fans and the team. Consequently, she has found her own way to contribute to the team culture through her baking. Needless to say, as the team prepares for their final battle with the Seahawks, it would be one of the team's most talked-about "plays" this season that might just be happening off the field, in Ann Michael Maye's oven.
