The source revealed that Dolly privately battled cancer during the final year of her life and was getting treated overseas. Dolly's death was unexpected and shocked her fans, even though people in her close circle had an idea that she was sick.
As per an earlier report, when people close to Dolly found out about her hospitalization, they rushed to Nashville to be by her side. For those who don't know, Dolly was laid to rest at the Nashville burial site, Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
A source told Page Six that Bryan, her nephew, was in charge of arrangements. The source also confirmed that it was a simple ceremony, as Dolly always wanted it since she lived most of her life in the public sphere. She was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Carl Dean. Dolly was married to Carl for 58 years. Talking about the funeral, Dolly was reportedly buried in a cotton dress and her signature stilettos, as per her wish.
Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, revealed in an emotional Instagram video that Dolly once called him and bared her heart's desire to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton after her passing. Dolly believed that she had lived a life wearing heavy rhinestones, and she finally wanted to be comfortable and have some rest.
Talking about Dolly's nephew, Bryan Seaver, it has been revealed that after he stood in front of the camera to talk about his aunt's death, he was asked to hand over the keys. He was sent a termination notice on September 16, 2026, as per TMZ. The notice dismissed him and his security companies from all of Dolly's properties.
After Dolly's passing, no will, trust document, or probate filing was made public, and it was unclear who would control her assets. According to the letter obtained by TMZ, Dolly's properties and professional business are held by the DP Dean Trust, named after Dolly and her late husband, Carl Dean.
Dolly spend her entire career keeping her business private and her family away from the media. She set up trusts so that her personal affairs wouldn't end up in court. Less than a month after her death, people are disagreeing in public about what she wants. But one person is clearly left with instructions, and none of them have been made public.
