According to a report by Radaronline.com, Parton’s death was announced by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who was asked by the actress to record the message years ago. Dolly Parton was married to Carl Dean for almost 60 years. The duo was in an open marriage, and there was much speculation about her affairs as well. However, she once confessed to falling in love with someone whose name she has never disclosed.
The affair with an unidentified “lover” even led her to contemplate suicide. A source familiar with the accounts collected in the book told Radar in an interview:
"Dolly never pretended that her marriage to Carl Dean meant she was incapable of developing powerful feelings for somebody else. What happened appears to have been an affair of the heart rather than something she ever clearly defined as physical, but emotionally it affected her enormously."
Dolly was just 18 when she met Carl Dean, who was 21. It was love at first sight for both of them. Dolly thought Carl was a genuine man, while he was certain he would marry her. The duo soon got married in a secret ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia, in 1966.
Though Dolly was a superstar, Dean never liked the limelight. He rarely accompanied Dolly to public events but always supported her from behind the scenes without ever being jealous of her fame. However, there were rumors about Dolly’s multiple affairs during her marriage to Dean. In an interview with National Enquirer, she spoke about the same and said:
“I've had my little affairs. I've been tempted many times, and I admit I've given in more than once — but not as many times as people believe. I've been tempted many times, and I admit I've given in more than once — but not as many times as people believe.”
She was also linked to her famous co-stars, including Burt Reynolds, when they worked together in 1982's The Best Little [Expletive] in Texas, but she never accepted a date with him. She also made a candid admission about the rumours of her affair and said, ‘I'd never admit to having been to bed with Burt Reynolds or Sylvester Stallone’.
However, the Grammy winner made it clear that her relationship with Dean was one of the most important things in her life. But Dolly also admitted that there were some details she would never share with Dean because she couldn't bear the thought of hurting him.
