Recently, rapper, Doja Cat opened up about getting liposuction and how the disease, lipedema was the reason behind it.
Doja Cat is one of the most popular singers and rappers in the world right now. However, since the past few months, the singer has been facing criticism from the audience for her alleged liposuction. Recently, the rapper opened up about a possible health condition and if it influenced her body changes and plastic surgery. Read on to know what she said!
Recently, Doja Cat had a conversation with her fans on TikTok, during which the rapper revealed that since the past few days she had been researching the disease, Lipedema and realised that the symptoms of it are very similar to what she is dealing with in her body. Lipedema causes abnormal fat buildup in the legs, hips, thighs and sometimes arms.
The singer then compared images of people living with the condition and the similarity between the two concerned her. She also suggested that she might have stage 1 or stage 2 of lipedema. Further, she explained that her mother might be suffering with the same and the condition might run in her family. In her words:
"I was probably at, like, stage one or stage two. And it looks exactly like my legs. Like this looks... These legs look like my legs. I always thought that it was cellulite. I'm like, I always thought like, 'Damn, what's wrong with me? Like, is something wrong with me? Like, why do people keep pointing at me and gawking at me?"
Doja Cat continued to reveal that she doesn't like the fat in her body. Further, she recalled her older music videos and shared that she had very fat knees but it did not happen overnight. She explained that it was happening gradually with her body and the fat was getting accumulated. She shared:
"I just felt like it stuck out, and I didn't like it. I genuinely didn't like that my ass was so big, boo hoo. If you look at my knees... Like I had big ass knees, like big fat knees. Basically, I wasn't horrendously, deeply overweight or anything. I was just building up all this ass, and ankle, and calves, and knee and thigh. I had a whole ton of it."
During the same conversation with her fans, Doja Cat also recalled going under the knife. For the unversed, in 2023 the singer revealed that she had gotten liposuction. Now, Doja Cat explained that she got rid of the fat only around her thighs because she thought that her ankles, knees and more were not a big issue. However, she later regretted that decision as she looked very weird. She was quoted as saying:
"My butt was so big. And then I just had, like, these little thighs. And I had to go back in because I had way too much ass. Went back in, got some out of my butt, and now I have, from all of the history of having all that ass, like extra skin. My butt looks kind of weird [now]. And that's due to all of the extra skin from when I had all of that extra fat."
For those who do not know, Doja Cat is one of the most popular artists in the world. Reportedly, she began her music career in 2014, with her first song, So High. The popularity of the song led to the release of her album, Amala. Over the years, she gave hit songs and albums like Planet, Woman, Need To Know, Kiss Me More, Scarlet, Paint The Town Red and more. She has also won multiple Grammy Awards.
